Why didnt Kobe pass it to Smush for the three on that last second shot attempt? I wish he'd just trust his teammates a bit more
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace:</div><div class="quote_post">Why didnt Kobe pass it to Smush for the three on that last second shot attempt? I'm glad everyone who watched this nationally televised game got a close up look at the b.s. officiating Kobe and the Lakers are getting. This has been going on since the All Star Break. I know some Laker fans always blame the officiating, but I think it's clear Kobe isn't getting fair treatment on the court. Still you cannot blame this loss on the final plays. The Lakers score 63 points in the 1st half and only managed to score 32 the rest of the game. It should never have come down to a final possession deciding the outcome of the game. The coaching staff is failing to motivate the players after halftime. We've seen the Lakers come out flat time and time again after halftime and they get destroyed in the 3rd Quarter. The job of the coaching staff is to keep the players motivated and focused for 48 minutes. Thank god the Jazz and Hornets are playing even worse, otherwise the Lakers would be on the outside looking in. I'm also wondering why the coaching staff didn't rest the starters more after they took a commanding lead. Save Kobe and Odom for the second half, and give some minutes to Jim Jackson or Ronny Turiaf.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Brok3n:</div><div class="quote_post">Man, what happened? I got back from work with 3 seconds left, just enough time to see Kobe take the last shot. I think Kobe needs to start letting his teammates take the shots, he's to predictable, Cav's even threw 3 bodies on him. "Kobe is going to beat someones ass in the lockeroom that's for sure. I think it's Walton." LOL</div> Kobe beating up on Walton in the locker room. Yea this was a crappily officiated game from what I saw in the last minute of the game. gAyBC forced all Texans to watch the Dallas vs Nets game (which sucked ass and was a blowout) rather than another good ole Lebron vs Kobe. At least I caught the last minute of the game (in which only one free throw was made). Damn I hope the Lakers don't lose the last 8th spot to the Jazz, because no body wants to see that boring azz team get whooped by the Spurs. I think they are good at the 8th spot against the Spurs, because I am not sure Kobe's team can keep up with Phoenix' style of play. Plus Sac and Pho match up pretty well imo. BTW, this reminds me of the ASG when King James fouled T-Mac and their was no whistle for some reason. OfficialsMark Cuban

I think we can. If Kobe would have gotten to the foul time about the 8 times he was fouled, he would have at least made 13 out of the 16, if Lamar would have gotten that foul call that would of put us ahead, he would have more than likely gotten both of them. That's 15 points that we should have had right there. You also have to realize the 4 straight possessions they took away from us on no calls when Kobe drove to the basket, I believe the Cavs cut the lead to 3 during that span. The refs screwed us out of the victory, there is no other solution for it.
I'm saying the Lakers should never have allowed the Cavs back in the game to put themselves in a situation where the refs can decide the outcome. The Lakers blew an 18 point lead instead of building on it and putting the game completely out of reach.
NICE! Minny beat the Kings, this makes me feel much better about today, even though I'm still very upset.

Did you see how Ron Artest turned the ball over after he had the steal. Its like the ghost took it away from him. He had an open layup to make it a 2 point game but anthony carter took it and eventually the twolves won!
Well to add to what you guys have said, Kobe has averaged 4 FTA's in the last 5 games.. this is the same guy who is leading the league in getting to the line( or at least was til recently) and was gettin to the line at least 11 times a night. Officiating seems to be getting worse every year, but this is just rediculous.

Cleveland went on a run, and Kobe drived a couple of times, was hammered, and nothing was called. That allowed Cleveland to close to within 4.
Im all for playing defense and not blaming the refs as much as the next guy, but obviously the refs and the gameplay go hand in hand. I understand the lakers settled for jumpshots and that led to a stagnant offense, but the lakers CANT prevent a 15-0 lead when they cant even scratch their asses without getting a foul! Kobe got mugged nearly every time in the 4th with no foul, that led to turnovers. THen because ref's were only calling fouls in favor of the Cav's, the lakers couldnt play defense either! Kobe gets hacked on one end so theres no points, then lakers get ticky tack calls on the defense end which leads to points for the Cav's. If the ref's had been watching the right game and calling it fair both ways, then the lakers could have played defense and they could have scored more points. I dont know if u every played basketball in league but if fcuking sucks to drive the ball and get hacked and not get calls every time. You would settle for jumpshots also. Pay better attention man, a team cannot play D when the ref's dictate the game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting K8B:</div><div class="quote_post">Are we really? I'm hoping we can get that 6th seed, we need to play Denver.</div> Amen to that! But with phil at the helm, i wouldnt mind facing anyone not named the suns
How is it that the Kings and lakers both have the same win percentage and yet the Lakers have the higher seed even though the Kings have the lead in the season series? Oh well, guess we'll just have to wait until the Kings Lakers game next week for the Kings to officially re-pass LA.
