Yesterday against the Hawks, we had 8 guys who had between 10-18 pts. They only people who played who didn't get in that range was Darko and Bo Outlaw. The game before we had 4 people from 10-19 and the game before that we had 6 people in double digits(including 2 over 20). It always seems like we have 4 players who take 10 shots, but none that gets over like 17-18 shots. Do you guys like spreading it around or would you rather see specific players get more shots?

Dwight Howard is our franchise player and in order for him to develop into a star, we need to feed him the ball and let him do his thing. Howard only had 11 shots last night when he should be taking somewhere between 15 and 20. When Tony Battie (our last option on offense) and Keyon Dooling (who didn't even start last night) are taking only one shot fewer than Dwight, you know there is a problem. Now let's take a look at the Hawks franchise players' shot attempts. Joe Johnson and Al Harrington both put up 24 shots and ex-Magic center Zaza Pachulia had 15 shots. These are the types of things I would like to see Howard doing. It seems like we always try to start the game by feeding Howard the ball down low. Then as the game goes on, we start to forget he is there or something. Brian Hill needs to stress that for us to win games, Dwight needs to take some more shots.

I wouldn't go that far though... Balance is good. This is how I would break it up....

    Dwight 15-20 shots a game
    Jameer 12-15 shots a game
Hedo 10-15 shots a game(depending on if he's hitting or not)
    Darko 8-10
    Arroyo 8-10
    Ariza 5-7
    Dooling/Stevenson 5-7
    Battie 5

That is 73 shots on the low end and 96 on the high end. I am aware that there aren't 96 shots, if Dwight takes 20, then that means that Hedo would take 10 and others will take in the low end. It's just a rough estimate. Of course it woudl change depending on how hot/cold someone is, like if Dooling/Stevenson are hot, give them 10-15 shots a game, etc.... But if everyone is doing what they normally do, that is how I would break up the shot selection.

*The last game in regulation we had 78 shots....

Well, I had written a long post about the Balance of the team, but my finger slipped and pressed some button and deleted it all.

But I basically said that we just need to do whatever wins us games. I like how our team is balanced, but Dwight is our franchise player. He needs to perform like one. In order to do that he needs about 15-20 shot attempts. Maybe, for now, it should be balanced, but next year is Dwight's year.
