<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Carmelo Anthony has been tearing up the NBA pretty consistently since December. On Monday the league finally caught up to him, naming him its Western Conference player of the week for the first time since the Nuggets forward's rookie season. "It's good to have that one. It says a lot about what I did and what the team did over the last week and a half on the road," said Anthony, who led Denver to three road wins out of four by averaging 31.8 points and shooting .578 from the field. The victory at Indiana came on his game-winning jump shot. "He was player of the road trip, too," Nuggets assistant coach Scott Brooks said. "He's had an incredible run. We all keep saying it's hard to believe he wasn't an all-star, what he does. How many game-winners does it take for someone to realize the kid is an all-star?" Denver's public relations staff has labeled this the "Melo-Man March." In 11 games this month, Anthony has averaged 29.5 points on .581 shooting and hit two game-winning shots. It has been enough for veteran forward Kenyon Martin to compare the 21-year-old Anthony to a young Michael Jordan. "Right now he just plays the game and he's better than everybody," Martin said. "When he starts thinking the game, look out. That's what they said about Jordan early in his career, that he just played the game. Then when you start outthinking people? Trouble. He's averaging, what, 26 (points)? That's easy for him. The game is easy for him. If he starts thinking the game, it'll be even easier." </div> Source
If he could start rebounding better, he would be a beast (as if he isn't already). To those who compared him to Glenn Robinson, I laugh at you.
damn! melo is red hot from what ive seen in the nuggets / spurs game. im flipping through it along with the laker game, and at one point he it 3 straight shots. this guy is definetly going to be a great player
Melo's awesome its jus that ppl dont no him like they no LJ or dwayne wade, his team isnt really comercial type....
'Melo is probably the best one-dimensional player, but he needs to get better at passing and rebounding to be considered a great player by everyone.
