http://www.insidebayarea.com/sports/ci_3623822 The Dunleavy Q and A <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Q. Warriors broadcaster Jim Barnett has said more than once that he would like you to be more aggressive on the court. Is he correct? A. I don't think "aggressive" is a good word. It implies anger and being out of control. Maybe I need to "assert" myself more; that's a good word. Listen, we got nine to 10 guys on this team, and everyone can score. People say for me to score every night, but that's not what this team needs. Q. Barnett meant that he wants you to go to the basket more. Would you buy that? A. I go to the hoop plenty. Jim says that because he can't shoot, so he always thinks he can drive. When he played, he couldn't make any shots. I'm fine with where I'm at. Q. Chris Mullin believes you are a "winner." How does that make you feel? A. Everywhere I've played, from growing up until now, I've won. So he's talking the truth. Whether it's here or somewhere else, I'm going to be known in my career as a winner. </div> Dunleavy is a funny guy. I think the real problem is lifting all those gigantic sacks of money caused his shooting power in his legs to get tired.
That he doesn't deserve. I am so annoyed at him. I'd rather see MP starting with Baron then seeing the pretty boy up front.
Let me know when he actually produces on the court. I heard so many things in 4 years how Dunleavy is all around players, gym rat or worst critic to himself, but the bottom line is that he hasn't been a factor for last 4 years. And, for a 'all around player', he surely can't find himself to be useful till now. It's just amazing to see Jamison, who airballed 8 fter as his first NBA shoot attemps, shooting 41% from the 3 pts, while Dunleavy, whose strong side should be shooting, is shooting 25% from the 3 pts and probably shooting as many airball as making 3 pts this season...
We've got TOO MANY OVERPAID BACKUPS!!! That includes Dunleavy Jr., Fisher and #1 man Foyle who heads the list. There are more problems, but that's three big ones right there. Mullin needs to quit opening the purse strings to every Tom, Dick and Harry .
It's been awhile since I last posted but nonetheless, I have to say I'm probably one of the few Mike Dunleavy supporters left. I know he's way overpaid for what he's bringing to the table right now, but on this team, he's probably one of the best passers... which is sad. When I was watching the Wizards game last night, none of the Warriors guards could run the break properly. Sure they scored two or drew a foul, but they way the break was run was horrible. The lack of a pass-first PG has hurt the Warriors tremendously from the few Warrior games I've been able to catch on tv this year. It also seems that Dunleavy seems to do really well when Baron or Murph is out. I don't think I'm wrong, but I'm tired and don't have stats to back this up. Anyone think the same or is it just sleep settling in?
You must not have posted for a while. When healthy, Baron's been one of the best passers in the league. Baron seems to do better when he has someone who can score to pass to while he doesn't do too well when he is counted on to score. While Dun is a good passer, he has not been playing close to the level we need him to be playing at. Dun lost his starting SF job earlier and both Fisher and JRich have more assists than him. It may be better for Dun to move on as he'll probably do better elsewhere. This teams's a mess. We got too many guys that like to shoot the 3, we don't pass enough, chemistry problems, can't run a fast break, rebounding problems, weak defense in the paint, weak perimeter defense, weak free throw shooting, head coaching mistakes and disfunctionality, salary cap hell, etc. You name it. We got it . I don't mean to scare you away from posting again, but 12 years of no playoffs has left me with little. Only hope .
