    3. Nowitzki
    4. Duncan
    5. Nash
    6. Bryant
    7. Anthony
    8. Brand
    9. Arenas
    10. Iverson

    MY CRITERIA:
The player has to be the top player on their team and their team is in the play-offs (as of today).

The list of superstars can be much longer than just 10, but if you have to limit it to 10, then these have to be the standards of a superstar.

I would have rewarded someone from Detroit, but it's not easy to pick who the "best" player on that team is.

    3. LeBron James

    5. Shaquille O'Neal
    6. Allen Iverson
    7. Paul Pierce
    8. Dirk Nowitzki
    9. Tracy McGrady
    10. Ron Artest

Maybe I'm stretching Artest, but I really think he is the most complete player in the league. The Best Defensive Player in league and he's capable of getting 20 Points every night. I think that is honorable of a top 10 spot.

    The 10 biggest superstars are...

Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson, LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal, Dwyane Wade, Tim Duncan, Steve Nash.

Those are the ten biggest superstars, based on fanbase and skill.

    In <u>ORDER</u>

    1. Tim Duncan - No Comment

    2. Kobe Bryant- What doesn't he do? He's just in a very unfortunate situation.

    3. Shaquille O'Neal- Still the man, but anyone who can't admit that he's fell of tremendously as far as what he can indvidually, then you're blind. I'm sorry.

    4. Allen Iverson- Gives his team a chance to win every single night. Lacks on the defense end a little, but his overall play makes up for that.

    5. Kevin Garnett- A frustrated star. He needs some fire in him. He's unable to takeover games and is wayyyyyy too unselfish.

    6. Tracy McGrady- Only turns it on in during the Playoffs and has yet to also win a Playoff series.

    7. Steve Nash- Difference maker and I'm not to certain he would be able to excel if he doesn't have the right players around him. He's very fortunate to have guys that fit his style. But then again what player won't do well, if they don't have the right players around him. It's a long story and that's what seperates starts from superstars. But to keep it very short, guys like Kobe, AI, Duncan and Shaq would be able to work with nothing much better than Nash would be able to.

    8. Dirk Nowitzki- Still waiting to see what he can without Nash but unquestionally a very special player and has held his own and still got the Mavs on top.

    9. Dwyane Wade/LeBron James- Very good starts, but has yet to really do anything.

    10. LeBron James/Dwyane Wade- ^^^^

    9. Shawn Marion
    10. Allen Iverson

Gilbert Arenas doesn't make it to the top 10, unless it was "Top 10 Scorers In The League Todat". All he does is score- a one-dimensional player. I don't know why Marion isn't on anyone's list- he's only 'half-carried' the load while Amare was out and is second in the league in double-doubles and probably having the best season of his career.

Elton Brand is a superstar, please tell me something he doesn't do on the court? He scores 25 PPG, shoots a high percentage, hits 53%, can pass, defends, blocks shots, rebounds, and to top is all off he's winning games. Guys who are flashier but doing even less and winning less games are getting ranked higher than him.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">8. Dirk Nowitzki- Still waiting to see what he can without Nash but unquestionally a very special player and has held his own and still got the Mavs on top.</div>
What did he do with Nash? Conference Finals? Without Nash he's had higher percentages, while having 2 career high PPG years, career high scoring efficiency, is on pace to win like 63-64 games, and is a Top MVP candidate. I'm not sure how this discredits him in any way.

    1) Tim Duncan
    2) Kobe Bryant
    3) Lebron James
    4) Kevin Garnett
    5) Dirk Nowitzki
    6) Elton Brand
    7) Dwyane Wade
    8) Allen Iverson
    9) Gilbert Arenas / Steve Nash
    10) Paul Pierce / Tracy McGrady [b/c of bad season]

HM: Shawn Marion, Shaquille O'neal, Vince Carter, Yao Ming

This is the easiest thing to vote! Look at the starters for the ASG, with an exception to KG, take out Nash! To be a superstar, you gotta take this into consideration: market value, talent level, first option on their respective team, max contract, and fan favorite. All these players have that.
    1. Kobe
    2. James
    3. Tmac
    4. Wade
    5. Duncan
    6. Shaq
    7. Garnett
    8. Iverson
    9. Yao or Nash
    10. O'Neal

Arenas, Pierce, Melo, Wallace, Nowitzki, Stoudamire, etc... are all All-Stars player, NOT Superstars yet. None of them ever start in an ASG.

Oh geez, the All-Star game, where the starters are voted in by fans, that's now what makes you a superstar? Please. Also who is Wallace, Ben Wallace? Wow, guys like Carter, and even young Chris Paul > Ben as a superstar player.

    Worst of all, no Brand

That is how everybody does, including fans, media, GM all think! To be a Superstar, you need to have the aspects I said earlier. And the fans know more basketball than you think. The two Wallace, Ben and Rasheed, boh are All Stars player, but not at superstar level. Brand ain't no superstar, he is an All Stars. If he is a superstar, he should be in the ASG more than just 2 in his careers [IMG] . And are you telling me, that if you're a GM, you will not trade any of the 10 superstars on my list for Brand 1-1?

Lebron, no max contract, Wade, no max contract. Duncan is not the most marketable guy out there, Nash is a superstar that isn't really a first option scorer on his team. Kidd has been a superstar and has never been a first option guy.

Carmelo Anthony, no max contract. Then you also put Ben Wallace in the HM list, who is not a first option, doesn't have a max contract, and isn't a Top NBA talent. At least be consistent with your idea of what a superstar is.

Being a superstar is not dictated by previous All-Star selections. Brand just moved up to that level this year, so of course he doesn't have previous All-Star selections, why does that matter. He's a superstar player right now.

About trading, most teams wouldn't trade any of those guys for each other. The Clippers aren't likely to trade Brand for anyone except maybe a Wade or Lebron who is young, but that obviously doesn't work and wouldn't happen. Duncan and KG are nice, but have like 3 years on Brand age wise.

Clippers definately would not trade Brand for Shaq.

Also saying Dirk who is an MVP candidate and has been an All-Star for who knows how long is not a superstar, and then guys like Yao [who is good], Iverson, Nash, and Tmac are is dumb. Not that they're bad players, but what margin do they have on Dirk to warrant such a claim?
