just wondering on what rocket fans felt of him. i used to watch him in college and thought he was going to be a great shooter someday. i just want some opinions from you all. how has he looked so far in his rookie season? thanks
Luther has been great. I think he's the #2 3 Point Shooter As a Rookie in Rockets History. He's been a good shooter for the Rockets, and has even had some Clutch Moments. He started of the season real good, but he has slowed down now, I think he just hit the Rookie Wall. He has some flaws, but I think that's normal just because he's a rookie. Luther Head has been the only productive draft pick the Rockets have had since Yao, and I think he's got the potential to be a future starter at the 2 spot.
imo it seems lately Head is the only one in the backcourt with the confidence to take the open shot (maybe too much confident? )
Luther started off strong, but he slumped for a big chunk of the season. He's played well the last three games, though.
thanks for the info guys. from what i have seen, and that is very little, he is a good shooter and has good speed. and he has a lot of time to improve

Very strange release from beyond the arc, and also the free throw line.
the Houston Chronicle wrote an article about him. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"With more opportunity comes more responsibility," Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy said. "I think he's playing a lot better on offense — passing decisions, shot-pass decisions. But If Luther is a two guard in this league defensively — being able to guard something or someone, right now is a struggle for him — he's going to have to find it within himself to be a David Wesley-type competitor or he's never going to get this type of opportunity with this type of minutes. This is a wonderful opportunity for him."</div> source
I think he is pretty good for a rookie, the steal numbers are good. Defensively still abit weak. Durvasa is right, his release seems "tight" for me. If we are not going for the playoff, just blood the youngster and let him play and create.
26 points, 8-9 shooting, 6-7 from the arc last night in a W against the Golden State Warriors. Plus 8 boards. Nice. Other than rebounds, Head doesn't really take advantage of his 39 inch vertical, does he?
finally someone stepped and finally we won a close game unlike the one in portland. its good to see the rockets try to win even though they dont have a chance to make the playoffs.
More Head Quickness on the baseline wows me everytime. For the last week I have been wanting to see L.Head be used as the legit second option on this team, 15-20 shots. I still think he needs the ball in his hands a little more when Yao is out. I think he can develop into a very good spot up shooter to work even better with Yao. TMac has shown confidence in this guy passing him the ball in clutch situations, Yao is now doing the same thing. L.Head does have hops, but I wonder if he can palm the ball. Most guys that can't, dont often dunk in games. He uses his quick jumping ability to get layups though.

Keep in mind this is coming from a Warriors fan.
Luther head has been a pretty good player. Next year he could develop into a legit 15 pts/ game guy. He could be a guy who play some what like Chauncey or Gilbert if he ever is having to run the point guard. From what i see i don't see him having any probelems with it becaue i think he is on eof those dynamic point guards that look for own shot as well as others ala Arenas and Billups of course one notch below.

He did hit a bit of a rookie wall, but he's got his swagger back. Reminds me alot like Cuttino in his rookie year, but I think Head is a better ball handler. I think he should definatley be on the roster next year.
