game's already done, but I thought I'd throw up a thread in any case. I think we got a little to content trading baskets with them and not playing defense ... I don't understand why Mitchell gives Charlie the hook for playing bad defense but bonner has a license to play bad d all game ... the fact that bonner got almost 10 minutes more burn than charlie is garbage ... Villanueva can score and give us more options on offense ... he gets no touches and really should be used more on our second unit since it lacks a scoring punch.
I just wanted someone on the Raps to go over to Gerald Green and give him a swift roundhouse kick after he did that little showboating at the end.... I must admit, it was a pretty sick dunk though.... classless, but sick....
How is it classless when a high school rookie that rarely plays completes a dunk at the end of a game? It's not like it was Pierce doing it to rub it in. It's just that Green never gets a chance to play so he probably doesn't think about stuff like that in games, especially on a fast break.
I didn't mind the Green dunk. It was entertaining and he seemed to let out his frustration over a lack of playing time with it. Once all the bench players are out there, anythings fair game IMO.
Just because Green doesn't think about it as rubbing it in Raptors face, doesn't make it not a classless act. But really the guy who threw the pass should be at fault too.

It wasn't all that bad considering he's just a bench guy who rarely sees the floor, but I guess the reason I got worked up about it is because it was Gerald Green (Raps fans hate him after his little draftday display).... had it been some other bench player, it wouldn't have been so bad.

Swirsk exaggerated on that Paul Pierce dunk on Bosh...I think I'm the only dude who hates the Swirsk.

Some of the tings he says are just too cheesy. I didn't mind his replacement when he was sick (sore throat) for two games though.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MAKEOUTCITY:</div><div class="quote_post">I think I'm the only dude who hates the Swirsk.</div> Duude, I with you on that one. Its gotten to the point where he's like a permanent caricature. Actually there are only a few basketball analysts that I can stand in Toronto. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Drake Remoray:</div><div class="quote_post">I didn't mind his replacement when he was sick (sore throat) for two games though.</div> I liked it too, for that fact that I didn't have to listen to Swirsky's stupid voice. But after the first game I realized how horrible it is too watch a ball game with 2 colour commentators and no play-by-play man. There's gotta be a play-by-play man in Toronto who could oust Swirsky. This should be Colangelo's first priority.
The only problem I have with Chuck is his constant homerisms.... Like in this game where he went on that rant about how there should be an "investigation" on why Graham got that offensive foul call (when he clearly pushed off with his off-arm) or when he started to make fun of the Boston line-up that consisted of a bunch of scrubs (yet in the mean time, those scrubs were getting easy buckets in the paint against us)... But I do appreciate his enthusiasm though. When you watch other commentators, you'll realize how lucky we are to have a guy who actually sounds like he's enjoying his job. Also, I like the chemistry he has with Jack and Leo...... he'll say something stupid and the other guys will pick on him, and vice versa..... it makes for good entertainment. Anyways, even though he gets annoying at times, I'd still prefer to have him doing the play-by-plays then any other guy.

Bonner is what he is and won't change but Charlie has the potential to be much better and Mitchell has to teach him that however painful it might be for us to watch. Just my opinion, but if you are watching someone take your place and stink it up it fires you up to do your job properly so the other guy isn't on the floor. A mild reprimand. This year has been a learning year and the results are starting to show, not consistantly, but they are there, so Mitchell is looking to keep teaching the rooks, so that next year he will be able to have CV out there longer and playing better solid D.
Stop hatin' on Chuck, without him it'd be a boring Raptor game to watch. If you witness the unenthusiasm of the other play by play men of other teams, then you'll appreciate the Swirsk. He has passion, and of course he's biased, and can say some really stretched things, but who cares you don't have to take everything he says seriously.

If you think the game is boring why do you bother? Its one thing to show some hometown bias and enthusiasm. But its gotten to the point where he just says things to draw attention to himself. And he's become a corporate spokesperson. Honestly, I thought two colour commentators was better than Swirsk. He's one of the reasons I just listen to the radio these days.
Bosh played very well, Mike James too. Paul's dunk was kinda sick imo and Gerald's dunk was good too.
