Who will step up now that Zo is out ??

Michael Doleac, Wayne Simien, Earl Barron?

The one thing I really dislike about Riley's coaching style is this B.S. mentality to only go 7-8 players deep in the rotation. Yes, other players come in at times but not unless there's a special need for it. (i.e. matchups/foul trouble)

I believe Riley has committed a huge mistake not allowing Wayne Simien to play more throughout the season. Yes he's a rookie, but so what? He's been good anytime he's been given a chance to play. Simien is solid on both ends of the floor and can provide a spark off the bench.

Michael Doleac is a true professional and bust his butt when he's on the court, but he's over the hill and not mobile enough.
I don't think the Heat believes Earl Barron is quite ready yet.

I really hope the Heat give Wayne Simien a shot to play. This guy could end up being the steal of the draft if we ever give him a chance to contribute.

He's a bit undersized (6' 9") to play the Center position but he's strong and smart enough to make up for it. (That guy in the middle from Detroit seems to be doing ok at 6'9". For further proof look at Phoenix starting 6'8" Boris Diaw at center !)

Riley is stuborn enough to try and figure this out without playing any of these players, but it will cost the Heat in the long run. Shaq played a season high 43 minutes against Detroit because Riley would not put in Doleac or Simien to replace him. It's obvious to say that Shaq should not be playing 43 minutes a night.

All playoff teams use a short rotation and Riley is coaching with the same philosophy he's always used. Riley is one of the those coaches who doesn't trust rookies, because the percentages are against them in having success in the NBA. Riley became the coach to win a Championship, not to develop young players.

Who's going to step? Well no one is going to replace Zo's presence on the court. I think Haslem will have to be the player who steps up with Zo out for 2 to 4 weeks.

Don't be surprised if the Heat pick up Antonio Davis who was just released by the Raptors.

Wayne Simien finally got some playing time and proved to be solid as expected. [IMG]

No reason why he couldnt have been contributing throughout the season.

Expect Simien to stay active with Mourning and Shaq out.
