But you know what, IMO the kid has finally started showing a lil sum-sum in the absence of Baron Davis. I hope that's not because of the absence of Baron Davis.
Dunceleavy...a man of many faces...mostly painful I really wonder if there's a story behind the recent 20 pt games after a stinkfest of 1-7 nights. That's as bad as my scoring % when trying to pick up college girls. Suddenly Dun has a few games where he looks worth $6.5 million a year. (It's NBA money..not real-world $ like in my pockets)
Same plot for 4 straight years. Dunleavy plays horrible when the game means something, and when we are out of PO, he starts to play well, leaving a hope to some Warriors fans. He did in his rookie year, 2nd year, 3rd year, and he is doing it again this year. Wake me up when he actually plays well in the beginning and the middle of season...
Imagine if he and Foyle could play up to their current contracts, or better yet, their draft standings. Ugh... Mullin got burned twice by these guys because with Foyle you should know better and Dunleavy's four years evidence he only plays well when it's meaningless. At least we can't refute that they are punks who don't try hard.
Its not about "playing to the contract" its about your potential. He's a work in progress. I really think that the others resent Dunleavy. How many easy buckets has Baron/Fish set up for him?

Hes started hitting shots recently but its not like his shots are easier now than they were with Baron playing. It would be hard not to get pissed off and look elsewhere to pass the ball when a guy is playing like Dunleavy was in the first half of the season. Fisher hasn't really set anyone up, especially not on the fast break.
Besides, when you go out to media and rip your teammates for at least 3 times, especially when you are having a horrendous season, it's hard to like that teammate...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kwan1031:</div><div class="quote_post">Besides, when you go out to media and rip your teammates for at least 3 times, especially when you are having a horrendous season, it's hard to like that teammate...</div> Yeah, Dun's comments threw me for a loop when he made them, especially about Baron playing street ball. At first, I thought it was something that needed to be said because the Warriors had played horribly against the Heat. But as more came out, it was something that was better brought up at a team meeting. I didn't think Baron and Dun always fit well, but it wasn't as bad a fit like Dun and Murphy. Also, it wasn't like Dun was playing great early in the season, and he was just going through a good streak trying to showcase himself in a trade to Indiana. The bottom line is Dun is inconsistent and a backup player on this team. Maybe he could be better elsewhere, but don't think he'll do well here. It's too bad Mullin gave him so much money because he could've been traded this past trading season.
Baron needs aggressive power players alongside him who can make their shots. Dunleavy, Murphy, and Foyle just don't cut it.
Watch the offense right now, Dunleavy gets passes about 27 feet from the basket either at the top or the wing so that he's the guy to make the pass to the post or someone cutting from the weak side. His role is to be the facilitator which does not translate into Pts which is how people judge productivity. Even worse if there is a bad team which is having a problem scoring. Now Dunleavy has shot horribly this year, no doubt. But he does not get many easy buckets because no one looks for him. Fisher and JRich only feed him where he curls up towards the elbow and shoots a jumper. That's the only play they run for him.
oh my god, i started laughing harder as i scrolled through each photo. that one with jason kidd is a Masterpiece

The team wins together, they also go down together. Sometimes, it's a selfish, poor decison making ball club. Like the passer who wants the play sometimes doesn't get the ball back in his hands when he's in the easier position to score. Like for instance, Dunleavy will give the ball up to a scoring threat, then Dunleavy's defender will collapse on to the scoring threat, and then Dunleavy becomes open on the 18-20 foot mark on the baseline. The guy who now has the ball doesn't see Dunleavy moving off the ball or doesn't trust him to pass (could also be just selfish players). Dunleavy can make the 20 footer if he's open. He just is a horrible 21 feet and out, three point shooter this season and that has screwed up this team's ability to play the dumb, but effective way of playing last season where we drove, kicked out, hit a 3. You're right that there needs to be some facilitator on offense rather than guys looking to find their own numbers... In terms of funny photos, there was this one photo with an expression he does when he puts his hands to his face and makes a funny face when he gets called for a foul. That was classic... Can't find it anymore, though. It looked sort of like this http://www.neolog.com/images/netstuff/New_Folder/scream.jpg (big photo)
custodian, I know what pic you're talking about. It was in SLAM's 10 top Dunleavy pics of 2005 I believe.
