<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Larry Stewart of the LOS ANGELES TIMES reports, ?Just when Kwame Brown appeared to be getting on track, he might be slowed by an injury. Brown suffered what initially appeared to be a minor hamstring injury Friday night near the end of the Lakers' 101-96 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. But Coach Phil Jackson was somewhat concerned Saturday. Although Brown was at practice and worked out, he was kept off the court. Jackson said of Brown's right hamstring, "I don't think you'd say it's torn, I think it's just a slight cramp. There's some tightness there." Jackson said Brown's injury would be further evaluated today, before the team's game against the New Orleans Hornets at Staples Center.? </div>

Damn hamstring injuries are very unpredictable and painful to deal with. The last thing the Lakers needed was an injury to their frontline. I think they have to pick a big body up with Mihm and Kwame injured. Antonio Davis was just waived by the Raptors he could be an option.

Another player they might sign is Corie Blount. He was on their pre-season roster and knows the Triangle offense.

At least it's not torn, otherwise Kwame could be done for the season, if it's a cramp then some stretching and massages should keep it loose.

I guess Brian Cook will have more minutes, he's been in a bit of a shooting slump recently, hopefully he can get out of it. Socks may also get the chance to turn that negativity Phil gave him into motivation to show his game.

IMO we should just rest him and let him stay out this game. that way, he wont worsen the injury. its against the hornets, who have been struggling so i think we can take them. if kwame rests, our next game is on thursday, so he should be healed

I agree, this is an important game because a win would give the Lakers a 4 game lead on the Hornets. However, the Lakers have to consider the worst case scenario, which is going into the post-season with both Mihm and Kwame injured.

The problem with a hamstring injury is keeping it warm enough so it doesn't tighten up. The minute Kwame goes to the bench his night is going to be over because once he cools off his hamstring is going to cramp up again.

The Lakers should definitely give him as much time to heal as possible. Rest him tonight and give him the next 3 days off so the trainers can work on him.

The Lakers can get away with playing small ball tonight, because the Hornets don't have a real low post threat. The Lakers just have to focus on not allowing dribble penetration tonight because Chris Paul is deadly when he gets into the paint.

I agree with you guys, let kwame sit it out tonight and play with a small front line. Perhaps move kobe to small forward and start vujacic or Jim Jackson at sg, that way we at least have a big back court.

Hopefully kwame gets better because we need him against amare and Tim Duncan, who we face a a total of three times I believe before the playoffs.

If kwame us out for a while and they still make the play offs kobe has to get MVP

Unless Kobe magically gets LA into the 5th or 4th seed, Kobe has no chance at MVP.

if he does play, then thats a bad move by the lakers. this injury isnt bad, but if it worsens, he could be out for a lengthy amount of time. then who do we have at center? andrew bynum??

Yea, it would be a nightmare to have both Mihm and Kwame injured closing the season. To be optimistic about this, Bynum might finally prove his potential by having more of the 7/7 16 points game he had

Not a bad night so far. 7/7, 16 points and 4 boards, FTs hurt though, only 2/6.

It pisses me off that Nash is going to win MVP again, like seriously...Kobe is the hardest working guy in the League, has been for years...he deserves ONE. That's not to discredit Nash because what he is doing is incredible, I'm just pissed couldn't he have done this next year or something lol

Kwame played well again for the Lakers at Center. It's going to be interesting to see what the Lakers do when Mihm gets back. Both are better suited for the 5.

Kwame was getting roughed up last night. He got elbowed in the face by Brian Cook and had to go to the bench because his nose was bleeding like crazy. Then near the end of the game PJ Brown fouled him and got him across the nose.

    Kwame @ C > Mihm @ C.

I wonder how Phil plays it when Mihm is healthy. I think Kwame's earned the spot. 16 a game over the past 4, better than Mihm's done all year. He also has more of a defensive presence over Chris. To me, Kwame is the better suit for the team and Chris is out of the starting lineup.

PG: Smush / Luke Walton / Sasha Vujacic
    SG: Kobe / Jim Jackson
SF: Lamar Odom / Devean George
PF: Brian Cook / Ronny Turiaf
C: Kwame Brown / Chris Mihm / Andrew Bynum

That is the lineup I want to see out on the floor every night from here on out. We need Jimmy J to bust his ass in practice so he can start getting some time together with these guys before the playoffs.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Lakers have so many little injuries going on, here's an entry about one of them.

Kwame Brown was talking about getting treated for his bloody nose on the bench by trainer Gary Vitti and marveled at how Vitti put those "two tampons up my nose." Brown said: "They expanded in my nose. It was crazy!"
Kobe Bryant's post-game back spams aren't anything serious, but considering the overall fatigue Bryant acknowledged recently, it's worth noting that besides the limited travel the rest of the season for the Lakers, they have a three-day idle period this week and another three-day idle period next week (both are Monday through Wednesday).</div>

    That's just wrong.
