It means little at this point in the season, but it's always nice to get a win over the power teams, especially when they're playing at full strength. Ray breaks the Bowen hold with 33, including a three point dagger to go one up with five seconds to go, and Petro came up with some huge plays late on. Luke went toe to toe with Parker, but still coughed up the ball a couple of times down the stretch. More of the same from Wilcox, but I'd be interested to see Duncan's averages against us in the past five seasons. Also, has anyone seen the Rashard Lewis of the past 18 months? He's gone missing again.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Ray Allen got the final say Sunday night in his escalating feud with San Antonio's Bruce Bowen. Allen's 3-pointer with 5.4 seconds left capped a 33-point performance and gave the Seattle SuperSonics a 106-102 win over the San Antonio Spurs. Earlier in the game, Allen was kicked in the back by Bowen while the two were laying on the ground. Bowen was called for a technical, while Allen had to be restrained by Robert Swift and Nazi Mohammed. "It's just dirty basketball. It's plain, outright, dirty basketball," Allen said. "You guys have chronicled our battles over the last couple of years and I don't mind the competition, someone going at me on both ends of the floor. ... But when guys start throwing elbows and kick you when your down, that's dirty basketball and I don't respect guys like that." Afterward, Bowen was apologetic, admitting it was a mistake. Allen believes the Spurs' forward should be fined. "I did what I did and I'm sorry for that," Bowen said. "But there's nothing I can do to take it back." </div> http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap;_ylt=AnA...6032625&prov=ap Little bitch.
Nice win. Hard to believe the Spurs let Ray get an open look at the end but we'll take it. I thought Petro played very well, sometimes I have to remind myself he's only 19. Ridnour and Wilcox are showing some nice chemistry, Chris makes some nice cuts to the hoop when he sees Luke getting into the lane. On the scuffle between Ray and Bowen, I thought Ray jumped into Bowen and cried for a foul, thought it was going to take Ray out of the game but the opposite happened.

That's a veteran play. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On the scuffle between Ray and Bowen, I thought Ray jumped into Bowen and cried for a foul, thought it was going to take Ray out of the game but the opposite happened.</div> Bowen played the initial situation well and the offensive foul was certainly there, but why aim a kick at Ray on the ground afterwards? Just unnecessary and cheap, two things he is renowned for.
He just did what we've all wanted to do to Ray all season Seriously though, I think Ray initiated the contact and then accidentally or just happened to sit on Bowen's foot and wriggled around on it while crying to the ref, so I figure Bruce just gave a 'get off me' kick back at Ray. Well that's what it looked like to me after watching the replay. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sir Desmond:</div><div class="quote_post">It's only a small thing, but seeing Petro pass to Ray and immediately screen Bowen away from him just shows the sort of feel he has for the game. For a sec I thought the refs were going to call a rookie foul on him, especially against Duncan.

Most of the time Ray really lets Bowen get under his skin so I'm glad that he was able to channel his aggression in the right direction and make some big plays for us down the stretch. I'll give him a mulligan for going to the papers and whining since it was obviously a cheap shot from Bruce. I'm convinced though that Sweet Lew is not worth the max extension that he is seeking. I understand that he is only 26 and his best basketball may be ahead of him but in the interest of this team we can not afford to shell out so much money to him that we will not be able to take care of guys like Robert Swift, Jo Pet, and Nick Collison. I am indifferent about Luke but I really would want to keep those guys. That is why I think that Sund should look to deal Sweet Lew in the summer time. I'm sure that his market value probably exceeds his production right now and we can get some genuine young talent for his services. We won last year in the playoffs without him, so it isn't like he is a guy who is irreplaceable. Dallas is a team that has been enamored with him for a while. Why not package Josh Howard and an expiring contract (Jerry Stackhouse) for him? A lot better than watching him jump ship for nothing.

I'm not sure Dallas do that though, as they've gotten a really nice chemistry going at the moment, and with Dirk providing all the things Lew does, Howard is the intangibles, Avery Johnson sort of guy. He's only going to get better, too. I'd like to get another late lottery/mid first round and take Rondo, but obviously Lew is worth a lot more than that.
The refs won thos one for you. Two bad calls with the game on the line. Give the W to the refs. The calls won the game for you. First they push horry out of bounds by putting his hand on his back while trying to regain his baclance. Seattle scored. Then they clearly held tim and NO CALL!. That gave the sonics the win. You can't say the sonics deserved that game with those calls.

^^Agreed...and what about throughout the game? Duncan was getting those little minor calls in his favor. Don't blame it on the refs...it's your team that lost the game for you.

If you want to act like a little kid...then go ahead. It's quite obvious that you do, and I hope you know that it makes you look dumb...

Bad officiating is everywhere, and it hurts both ways. Quit whining and try beating rotten teams by playing better rather than blaming the officials. The Sonics have the worst defense in the history of the league and the Spurs just didn't play hard enough to win.
Here's the video of Bowen kicking Ray in the back. Where is Danny Fortson when you need him? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=260326025
