Is Yao Ming begining to cool off his hot streak? Look at the numbers in his last three. Not good news for Houston....
    Your thoughts?

It wouldn't matter if yao was scoring 40 pts a nights, one player can't salvage the team.

yao can give you 26-28ppg if he takes 18 shot attempts a game, rockets got next year man wouldnt worry too much about it, yao improves every year, he said hes trying to catch up with amare

Yea, Yao shouldn't be risking getting injured any more. He can't play hard year round especially since he has to go to China this summer and play in their league. Him aiming high to score 30-40 points a night is tough, because other teams have been double, triple teaming him.

Our team needs to focus hard on next year if we have any shot at WCF upset/Finals apperance. After that year, we wont have as much salary to play with since Houston usually tries to stay near the salary cap. If we can't make it far next season, Tracy will most likely be traded.

Are you out of your mind? You can't ask your team to lose, you can't ask your players to throw game. Whether you're winning or not, the competitive fire still burns in your players. You ask them to lose games, and that fire may never be rekindled.

I think Yao knows he can't make the playoff now and is just playing out the season. Maybe he can go to Lotto for us

coz other players r contributing along with him in the last 3 games...he isn't taking 50% of the shots anymore like he was when he was on that hot streak...

Yao has only grabbed one offensive board in each of his last three games. He's had 5 turnovers in his last 2 games. It appears that he's cooling off.

Maybe other teams are defending him better after observing how the Rockets like to get him the ball. Yao doesn't seem to be getting as many layups/dunks close in to the basket the last few games.

It seems also that Rafer Alston is being a little more aggressive looking for his own shot rather than dropping the ball down to Yao every time. Yao isn't getting the repost pass from him as often as before, it seems. But the Rockets have been playing a little better of late too, so maybe that extra balance is needed.

That's what he needs to do right now.. look for his own scoring opportunities and give opponents some other offensive threat to worry about and hope they sag a bit off Yao. Things should be better next year when T-Mac is back. Yao's stats will go down with fewer shot attempts but hopefully he will be able to be even more effecient and rested not having to deal with double and triple teams every time he touches the ball.

the point im trying to make is not if hes getting 30-40 pts/gme, but rather if he was just on a hot streak the whole time. Maybe hes back to his old self I dunno....

Far from it. Look how teams are defending him now. With TMac out, Yao's faced constant double and triple teams. The reason he didn't do well against Dallas was because of that, but these two last games haven't been bad, his numbers are still pretty much still around his March averages, although shooting percentage is down because of the defensive focus all on him now.

I believe that if Yao is going to be dominant in this league, he has to be able to do well, even in tough situations...

He had 27 points yesterday, which is really good for a center. I think he is going to get hot again soon.

Im more worried about his rebounds than his points. But hopefully he can continue his strong play.[IMG]

It took him 44 minutes to get those 27 points, and also he was mostly defended single coverage. In fact, the last few games he's been mostly seeing single coverage but not capitalizing. I think fatigue is finally setting in.
