<div class="quote_poster">Quoting trenchteam:</div><div class="quote_post">I cant agree with you. A.I. is a true machine. I'd take A.I in 2001 over the current Wade or Lebron. As for him deserving a championship? Hell yeah. He just wont win it in Philly anymore. That 2001 finals against the Lakers was his shot in a Sixers uniform.</div> We're not talking about the 2001 AI, we're talking about the 2006 AI. This isn't 2001 anymore. I love Iverson, but this year Wade and LeBron are definetly better. Some of the stuff they do is incredible. Not only are they doing better individually, but their teams are better. Also if anyone thinks I'm hating on Iverson I'mn not. He's one of my favorite players consideriing he's the basketbball king locally.
Iverson will NEVER get close to winnin a ring. His style of play isn't consistent with winning. You can't take 85% of the teams shots and expect to win. It's that simple. The Sixers have catered to Iverson WAY too much, and that's why they're team can't get over that hump. Yes he plays hard, but he isn't efficient enough to win a ring.

Obviously, with age and injuries Iverson is a step slower. It was to my understanding that their were 3 choices. Iverson, Wade, and LBJ. They didnt state the year they played. I made the remark that I'd take the 2001 Iverson over Wade or LBJ anyday of the week. Thats the bottomline.

Imagine how good he'd be if he practiced like Kobe or MJ- or even KG for that matter.

You don't win an MVP, several scoring titles, and two All Star MVP awards without work ethic.
yea he does, and so does KG, tmac and gil arenas, oh yea d-wade, lebron, melo deserves a ring too, everybody deserves a ring
No. You deserve championships by winning and making your teammates better. He has a good squad, he should have led them to the playoffs. Dalemburt, Webber, Igoudala, Korver. Very good peices and he should make the playoffs at least consdiering they play in the weakest conference in the league. I find it pathetic that team isn't making the playoffs to be honest, anyone who feels sorry for Iverson needs to have there head examined...
Iverson wont win one in Philadelphia. He does deserve one after the hard work hes put into so many seasons, but championships arent handed out, theyre earned. Iversons put in the time, just never had the personal to take him that one step further. He needs out of Phili, same with KG if they want a championship. But hey no one saw the Clippers making finals, and now theyve got a higher seed then the Lakers, so anything could happen!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chutney:</div><div class="quote_post">Nobody deserves to win a championship unless their team beats 4 other teams in the playoffs. Iverson isn't owed anything. He hasn't been surrounded by the best teams? Well, tough luck. Thats just how the league works.</div> I don't see how you can say that... Iverson is one of the best players in the league (in my opinion the best) He has worked his butt off for the sixers organization and they have not repayed him one bit. They won't even surround him with a good team. Yeah they went out and got Webber and Andre. But Webber is getting to old and can't really contribute to the team. What you said is like saying that Karl Malone never deserved to win a championship and he is the most deserving player ever to deserve to win a championship. If Phily won't surround Iverson with players that he needs then Iverson needs to get out of Phily and go some where else. Oh and yes he will win a championship and I hope that it is when he is a Sixer.

Well sure i suppose he "deserves" one. But how many players deserve a ring? If he does, countless others do. It's just the sorry fact that he most likely won't get one.

Playing with teammates is a fact of basketball. It's not Iverson's fault that he's had crappy teams over the years, but he has to deal it, either way. Do I think its fair? No, it isn't. But it just emphasizes the fact that teams win championships, not individual players.
