Quote:

(CBS4) WALTHAM Orien Greene, a rookie guard for the Boston Celtics, was arrested Monday morning following a police chase in Waltham.

Investigators say the 24-year-old Green was driving more than 80 mph when he passed a police officer at Main and Linden streets early Monday morning.

The officer gave chase and said Greene's SUV passed several cars and reached speeds of 90 mph.

Greene eventually stopped and was arrested at 3:20 a.m.

He was charged with failure to stop for police, operating to endanger, a marked lanes violation and speeding.

A spokesperson for the Celtics said the team is handling the matter internally.

Green is averaging 2.7 points and 14 minutes per game this season.

oops! not a great impression to give when you're a second round rookie struggling to prove you deserve your spot in the rotation. A highspeed car chase with police? aye-yae-yae!

thats the problem with the celtics. they have too many young players and too little veterans to lead the way and be a positive role model.

oh yeah shape. i forgot about brian. the guy is one of the best veteran leaders in the league. he teaches the young kids how to get signed to a long term deal with big bucks while never doing crap on the court.

It sounds like a little street in downtown Boston, how high can the speed limit be?

it wasnt in Boston, it was in Waltham, MA.
i doubt the speed limit was 5. i mean, at that point why let people drive there at all right? it was probably 15 in a school zone or something

I looked up the intersection of Main and Linden Street on Google Earth. Main street in Waltham is a 4 lane road that almost looks like a highway on there. The speed limit on the road is probably 45 or so...which is probably why Orien got off with only a slap on the wrist.
