<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Charlotte Bobcats guard Brevin Knight looked at Gerald Wallace's shooting numbers and thought of an NBA legend. "He had 17 layups -- those are Wilt Chamberlain numbers," Knight said after Wallace scored 18 of his career-high 41 points in the fourth quarter of the Bobcats' 125-117 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. Wallace hit 17 of 22 shots, almost all coming in the paint, including two alley-oop dunks in the final quarter to set a franchise record for points in a game. He scored six more than Kareem Rush had against Indiana on Nov. 16. </div> link: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap;_ylt=AmN...6032830&prov=ap the kings organization but be really kicking there butts right now. lol.
When he was first drafted, everyone criticized his jumpshot and ability to score. This game should prove that Wallace is not only a good rebounder and defender, but he can also score.
I have to give it to him he is going to be a great all around player. You look at him and think of him being another lebron james in about 2-4 years. His scoring has gone up. His Defence is unbelieveable. and its just crazy how he is getting better.
Your off with your comparison by a long shot, they play two completely different games, LeBron is on a totally different plateau. Gerald is also older than LeBron if im not mistaken. But anyways Gerald has improved a lot and his game has gotten better in all aspects.

i think the best comparison for gerald is shawn marion.. they both can give you at least 2 steals and 2 blocks per game, rebound a lot, and both have a wierd jumpshot
Wallace has to be the most underrated potential MIP/DPOY canidate this season. This man is eaisly the best player on this team right now, along with Felton. And am I the only one that think's Gerald Wallace is what Andre Iguodala COULD be, if not better?
Don't get a chance to watch Bobcats games because I live in Chicago. But, how does Wallace usually score so much? Because I check box scores and he usually only takes about 1 three a game. And don't know if he is like Wade and just takes mid range jumpshots. Or does he just drive and try to get layups and stuff? Thanks.

The league has definitely taken notice of Wallace, but he needs to play a full season to win those awards. I'm still surprised the Kings let him go during the expansion draft, when they could have left Christie unprotected instead. I don't think Charlotte would have wanted any part of Christie's contract during the time. The Bobcats made out like bandits with the contract he signed last summer. Right now he has to be one of the best "bang for the buck" players in the league. I'm sure a lot of teams are kicking themselves for not pursuing him harder during his free agency.

Also Wallace is nothing like Lebron, maybe a Marion comparison would be decent, though he doesn't have Marion's shooting ability, but he's that mold of player. You do still have to question how much of this he can do on a good team, but you know he can at least play a role similar to a Josh Howard, or Tayshaun, I'm not expecting him to even be a true offensive option anyways.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Psycho Drama:</div><div class="quote_post">And am I the only one that think's Gerald Wallace is what Andre Iguodala COULD be, if not better?</div> andre COULD be like gerald if he gets more involved on the offense. he must be more aggressive. at times, it seems like he is almost reluctant to shoot. he has all the tools necessary to be even better than gerald. but he just has to maximize it
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The "doesn't have a jumpshot" critique is so overrated, in my opinion. Same with Josh Childress, although he barely uses his jump shot compared to layups and dunks, he can also hit an occansional 3. That's why I think players like Ronnie Brewer shouldn't be ripped. Anyway to get back on topic, I think Gerald Wallace will be a great player, possibly Charlotte's franchise player along with Okafor, Felton, and May, woooo, nice.
Josh Childress was never a bad shooter, the critic about him was his shot release which is straight, and would be harder to get off with a defender in his face.
Gerald isn't better than LeBron.....Gerald has better defense than LeBron but then LeBron has more options available on offense such as a reliable jumpshot. They both can rebound but I think either or would be solid on a team. Gerald just needs to keep those injuries in check...... Also LeBron is indeed younger than Gerald, LeBron is like 20 or 21 and Gerald had like 5-6 seasons in the NBA making him maybe 2-4 years older....I may be wrong tho
