<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Toronto Star - Chris Bosh won't even consider playing a basketball game for more than a week and there is every reason to think the Raptor all-star's season is over, the Toronto Star is reporting.

Bosh's sprained left thumb is more seriously injured than originally thought and the chance exists that the team will have to go through the final 12 games of the regular season without him.

"It's tough but safety's the main concern," Bosh said yesterday. "I talked to the doctors (Monday) and they're telling me if the same thing happens again if I play, it could be very severe."

It was originally suggested Bosh had mildly sprained his thumb after a freak collision with teammate Pape Sow during the first quarter of Sunday's game in Milwaukee.

But after seeing a Toronto hand specialist Monday, the risk of further damage is too great to ignore.

"Rather 10 days than 10 weeks or something like that," said Bosh. </div>

This is for the better, Bosh has played heavy minutes down the stretch once again, and we are not playoff bound this year. It's also a sprain on his shooting hand, and it isnt worth making it worse in these last few games. This gives CV a real chance to get some scoring consitency down, and Mike James can run similar pick and roll plays with CV. This also gives Pop a chance to probably start the rest of the games and that will be a big boost in his development.

It's been a good year for Bosh, so he'll deserve the rest. I think BB87 is right, this will give the young guys a chance to try and step up. Does this mean Joey's back in the starting line-ups?

Shut him down for the season. No logical reason to bring him.

Reasons as to why Bosh should be shut down:

    1. Prohibits the risk of re-injuring his thumb and causing him problems going into next season.

    2. Gives time for the young players to develop (Also the 10-day signees).

    3. Improves our draft pick.

Reasons why Bosh maybe rushed back to play:

    1. Sam Mitchell's personal agenda.

Am I the only one who doesn't want Bosh out for the rest of the season??

I definitely want him to rest for at least 10 days, but for the rest of the season? It's hard enough watching these guys lose in fourth quarter breakdowns, but now it's gonna be almost impossible to watch considering we may get blown out almost every game from now on. Plus Bosh was my main reason for watching Rap games in the first place (our season was pretty much done since december started so watching Bosh's development was the best thing about the season), so it's kind of a bummer to think that I won't be seeing him play another game till November.

Besides, this season's draft is pretty weak and unpredictable, and as it stands we'll still have a high pick anyways considering Bosh will miss at least the next 5 games.... so tanking isn't really gonna do us much good anyways.

I think you should enlighten us all as to what this personal agenda is.

Bosh rushing back would be a stupid decision. Sure it shows he's got heart etc. but him rushing back doesn't help us in anyway. What does winning 5 more games mean? It's not like we'll start a playoff run. I know it sounds like a bad attitude but why not just play the young guys like Graham (who hasn't been getting much time lately) or Villaneuva (who's coming of a game where he was simply on fire) and experiment with some 10 day contract. Also improving our lottery position and hoping to land the a higher draft pick this year doesn't sound too bad.

My only worry is that Mike James goes bananas and scores big points and we are then obligated to give him the big money contract to stay.

I suppose Mitchell would rush Bosh back, because he feels pressured to win games and show Colangelo that he deserves the job.

We have good defenders on our team? Being one of the Raptors best defenders is not really anything special, outside of Mo, no one on the team is an above average defender.
