I don't get this. Headbands, sleeves and wristbands supposedly help a player's performance. So do tights. Why not ban the other gear as well? How about shoes? The real ridiculous thing about the league now is this whole 'image' problem. The NBA makes millions in merchandise sales to "gangsters" every year, and they're trying to distance themselves from that demography? You're not going to see a white-collar worker having a jersey over his suit...
Wow! Doesn't Stern have better things to work on besides ish like players wearing tights. Who cares if somebody wants to wear them, Stern is going to ban something just because he doesn't like the way it looks. What an idiot. Like said earlier, it would be a completely different story if the NBA slapped a Jerry West logo on them and started advertising them and selling them.
David Stern is the man, he doesn't play. He probably sees the tights fad as a reply to David Stern making players wear suits. So David strikes back! Respect the man's authority.
Most of the player who wear them wear them for medical reasons, so you probably won't see much of a change next year.
Actually, come to think of it, I'm sure players can easily get the team doctors to right them a request or medical excuse to where them.
From reading the article it seems like the majority of players that wear the tights do so not for looks but for injuries. All a player has to do is have the team doctor say they need to wear them for a "medical" issue. I really don't think the tights deal will be that big of a problem amongst players because the one's that need to wear them, will be able to.

If a player wants to wear them, he should be able to wear them regardless of whether or not his doctor says so or not. I mean really... how do tights deprive the NBA of a positive image?
WOW this is retarded. Do you think they will ban them from highschools now too?? If they do, I will s***spazz

Stupid! I wear one AI leg tight because of my ACL surgery,If you have bad knees or knee in my case you won't belive how much it helps, Stern needs to worry about his stinking job and the quality of the game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting YourNewChef:</div><div class="quote_post">If everyone didn't copy Kobe, this wouldn't be and "issue". </div>...or if Kobe didn't copy Jerry Stackhouse.
Thank god. Im with Stern on this one. Those tights are one of the silliest and dumbest looking trends ive seen in basketball. I wonder if players make fun of their teammates who wear tights while they put them on in the locker room. Its the 2nd worst trend in basketball ever.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting 44Thrilla:</div><div class="quote_post">...or if Kobe didn't copy Jerry Stackhouse.</div> Stackhouse started it for his legs, but Kobe made it a look.
Stern is lame. He should stop worrying about what the players look like. Especially on petty things like tights.
