I just remembered that Tony Parker is injured and will not play in this game, which will help the Lakers a lot since Tony's quick first steps always kill the Lakers. Smush can't defend against the much quicker Tony, so I'm just glad that Tony is injured. Go Lakers!!!

    My prediction:

    LAL: 96
    SAS: 90

As Long as Tim Duncan is playing I don't think the Lakers will win.

I'm not so sure...I think we should be more worried about recovering quick off the pass...because that is what kills us...yes Timmy is intimidating but Kwame does play Tim well and I'm confident in him....what hurt us was when Tim passed it off that led to many 3 pointers that killed us that one time....so yeah I think we need tio have a great effort by the team on defense...after that the offense will come

How about last game when Kwame basically shut Timmy down. He shot like 4 of 15 from the field. Don't you think that Kwame can repeat his good defense, especially with the way he's being playing lately?

I definitely think the Lakers can take this one, Tony Parker being out is a huge plus. This would be a huge win.

The Spurs said Parker could play tonight, but even if he does, he won't be 100%. The last game, the Lakers kept him out of the lane by being very aggressive on their defensive rotations and forcing him to shoot jumpers instead.

Kwame's ability to defend Duncan straight up is another reason the Lakers were able beat San Antonio. Kwame has to continue playing well and not giving up position in the post.

The Lakers have had 4 or 5 days to prepare for this game so I expect the coaches to have everyone focused and a winning game plan in place.

Damn, Parker's playing, atleast he's not a 100%. Keep me updated guys, I'm in Toronto so I can't watch this game. I hardly ever get to watch Lakers games. [IMG]

Even though it's only half way through the first quarter, Smush has already been beaten by Tony off the dribble 5 times! (Yup, I'm counting)

I think it's just an error cause Kwame did start...Tony played too..and he killed us..we had no 2nd defender as he drove...then as I said we didn't protect the kick-out well at all...we need to improve these things if we want to make it far into the playoffs cause any good team will play fundamentally like this....

Looking at the box score, it looks like the Lakers of one month ago. It's expected because generally, most players perform bad when they have a 3+ day layoff and when they play the Spurs.

yeah, im not too disappointed with the loss. i mean, it was against the defending champs, the san antonio spurs. what we do need to do though, is to not hang our heads and capitalize on all the "winnable" games, which is our next game against seattle

Yeah. I kind of expected this loss. Kobe turned the ball over too much in the first half and we kept throwing some lob passes to the Spurs back court. We need to work on better execution in those situations. The help defence on Tony Parker was horrible. I don't blame Smush at all as he (or anyone else in the league) cannot be expected to stay in front of Tony Parker. Maybe he could have funneled him into the help defence but there was none. They left Smush out to dry on too many plays.

Kobe's shot selection killed us in the end. We had a chance to win, but that deadly third quarter. We were outscored by 17 points in the 3rd.

I was at the game, the Lakers looked rusty as hell last night. They weren't playing with the same energy and focus they had during the win streak.

Tony Parker was doing whatever he wanted to Smush Parker, but also the help defense wasn't plugging the middle on him.

Kobe was playing terrible last night as well. He just kept jacking up difficult shots all night long and was forcing his offense. Kobe started off on fire, but once he stopped using his picks he allowed Bowen to challenge his jumpers.

Luke Walton was great last night, I think it was his best game of the season and I loved the drive to the basket plus the and1!

This game was a good barometer for the Lakers to see where they're at. They just have to forget about losing this game and get back on track with a win in Seattle tonight.

Hopefully Ray Allen wont kick anyone tonight after being kicked by Bowen the other night. Yep, I agree shape. Luke had a great game. I hope to see more like that. He had a couple 3 point plays that were sweet. Shake it off guys! Its playoff time!!!!
