I was thinking about this today, what if the NBA teams could draft a guy but keep him in college till he graduates or whenever they want him? They do this to European players by keeping them in Europe like Ukic this year with the Raptors. I think it would benefit many people, especially the players. I know if they did this you'd see some players come out too early but to prevent this, only the NBA teams get to pick what to do with you. I would of rather seen players like Ebi, Lang, or Dorell Wright go to college and develop then the NBA teams can bring them out of college and give them contracts or put them in the NBDL when they graduated. It's just my thought's, tell me what you guys think [IMG]

that would be great because that would mean if they draft someone and they arent ready yet, they can send them back to college. i thought they could have done that with high school players? but who knows. we do have the NBDL though, which is pretty much like college IMO. im not sure which has more talent, college or NBDL

College players can't be payed though, and if someone was sent back to college, they would still be making big bucks.

Plus college basketball would have to agree, and I don't think they like the idea of being a minor league to the NBA. That's the real problem i think.

Yeah, as stated above, your biggest stick is the college eligibility rules. As a D1 scholorsip athlete, you are not allowed to make money off of yourself in regards to sports. Actually, you can't even have a job. The NCAA would never ok for kids to get drafted, sign, get money and then develope in college. I think in the case of some athletes, once paid, they don't care about development, and I believe it could also cause a lot of problems on campuses across the country. Guys would be making millions, and not care about the college itself, they definatly wouldn't care about the coaches and what they have to say. It would just be an all around mess.
