Kobe owned the Rockets. Yao Ming was amazing in the 1st h alf, but was pretty quiet in the 2nd half. Looks like the Lakers gameplan of shutting everyone down except Yao Ming worked pretty well.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Against 3 very respectable big men, 2 being better than Yao and being top 3 PF/C's in the league, Kwame held them all below average. They all had poor outings. Kwame's been doing this for awhile, and he's finally getting recognized for it.</div> Neither Duncan nor Garnett have been as good as Yao as post scorers this season, in my opinion. Yao went for 33 points on 16-25 from the field. Lakers strategy of letting Yao get his points without putting him on the line was sufficient since they were able to score so easily against our defense on the other end.
Very good show by Kobe, and the Lakers. Odom played beautifully, I loved the no look pass to walton You can't stop Yao but good gameplan nonetheless. Looks like the Lakers fans will have them taco's as they held them below 90
nice win by the lakers. kobe was unstoppable in the 2nd and lamar and smush had a pretty solid game as well. kwame had an ok game on offense, scoring 10 points, but gave up 33 on yao and only got 3 boards. but that is expected if you play a 7-6 monster. im glad that the lakers won the last 2 because it shows they are detirmined and they wont slack off. like i said before, as long as we win all the games we are supposed to win, we will be in the playoffs
I love it....(although I'm a Rockets fan too because I got rep my hometown SHANGHAI!!!..ok, I'll stop...) the Lakers have grown this season...they are now winning games they should be..I remember in the beginning of the season, we would be saying that they should win this game or that game and they would let us down..now we are playing the way they are expected to paly...and on another note..have you guys noticed that the 3rd quarter is now one of our strong points? just..wondering..lol
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Locke:</div><div class="quote_post">Lakers got the win, but Kwame was ineffective against Yao. Yao was able to take control from the start and didn't look back. Brown did contest some shots but I guess I was right. Too bad I was right about Kobe too...</div> Kwame played well defensively against Yao, but it was just great offense by Yao to get his 33 points. The Lakers forced him to shoot from the perimeter, but Yao was able to make his jump shots tonight. Great win for the Lakers, Kobe tied up Elgin Baylors record for most 40 point games in a season by a Laker ... 23 and counting.

I was wrong about Yao in a way. Kwame played great defense on him, but wasn't tall enough to play effective D.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Franchise4Ever:</div><div class="quote_post">They were letting Yao score his weren't they? They knew Yao was gonna score w/ or w/o the d. team so they just let it go and played man to man alot more than they tried to keep it out of his hands.
Kobe and the Lakers were explosive in the 3rd quarter and didn't look back, very good win. We WANT TACOS!!! lol, i was laughin my ass off.
