<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">If you enjoy the passion Kobe plays with, I think you'd really enjoy college basketball. The NCAA Finals are tomorrow UCLA v. Florida, you should keep an eye on Jordan Farmar from UCLA.</div> haha, thank for letting me know. I'm going to UCLA in the future so you betcha I'm getting pump up tomorrow
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">If you root for Kobe before the Lakers, you are a bandwagoner. That's all their is to it.</div> You're not a bandwagoner, you're a player first fan.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting K8B:</div><div class="quote_post">You're not a bandwagoner, you're a player first fan.</div> One poster said if Kobe was traded, he would follow that team. Is following your favorite player wherever he plays not bandwagoning? I know a TON of Raps fans started liking New Jersey when Vince was traded.

Bandwaggoning would be jumping on the hottest team at the moment. Supporting your favourite player and wishing them team success as well as individual success is called loyalty. I personally would support Kobe wherever he goes and wish him the best. But I would still support the Lakers... but not sure for how long. I was not born in California... never lived there. I basically started to really like the Lakers when they started playing differently than the other teams in the league. Then Kobe came along and they were just more entertaining than most teams. Kobe and Shaq and Horry were a big part of why I became a Lakers fan. Now Kobe is the only guy left from that team and when he is gone I am not sure what I will think of the new look Lakers. I do know it won't be the same again.
I like Chris Paul, and I sort of follow the Hornets? Does that make me a bandwagoner? I think a bandwagoner is someone who becomes a DIE HARD team fan while they're player is on the team, but stops liking them after that player leaves. If you're favorite player is traded from a team, yet you still watch the team, just not as much, I don't think you're a band wagoner.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting K8B:</div><div class="quote_post">You're not a bandwagoner, you're a player first fan.</div> Yeah, you say it all. How am I a bandwagoner when I still love the Lakers? Okay, my fav player is Kobe and for him to leave the Lakers is not something funny. I just stop watching basketball, but my heart will still rooting for the Lakers francise to win it all every years. I used to like the Bulls because of MJ, but once MJ retired, I found a player which is so similar to MJ, that's KOBE. Then again I lived in LA, so definitely this bring my love for the game back to LA. Then ever since, I became a huge Lakers' fan and I'm not going to like another team at all, unless there's Kobe clone #2. Now I doubt if you're a bigger Lakers fan than me. I used to remember when we lost to the Spurs in our 4th consecutive title run, I cried my ass off when we lost (Not like a baby, but tear actually coming out! Just like Kobe). Seeing us stop from winning our 4th straight title definitely hurt alot. I didn't even bother watching the NBA Final in that year either, because there's no point. And for that whole summer, I worked on my game to beat up the guys I played with on the court (In school)
No doubt in my mind. I've been a Clipper fan as well ever since I started watching basketball, and they weren't a winning team until this year. Hell, I even watched the Clippers' 99' season.. can't get much worse than that.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">If you root for Kobe before the Lakers, you are a bandwagoner. That's all their is to it.</div> The definition of a bandwagoner is somebody who only roots for the winning teams. If you support Kobe, it means you support whoever Kobe play's for. They are actually supporting Kobe as they want his team to win. They aren't "team fans," they are "player fans."
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">I guess I worded it wrong. Point is, you root for the name on the front, not on the back.</div> Ehh it's up to people who they choose to support. I guess supporting a player isn't as bad as supporting the winning teams.
me, Lakers will always be my team no matter what, some of my friends have turned into LBJ fans since the Lakers are struggling and I just hate that.
