Rasheed Wallace just picked up his 16th technical foul which means he will be suspended for a mandatory 1 game. Ending the pistons streak for the starting lineup.

Bummer for Detroit.
The Pistons can still go back and appeal his technicals. Even if Sheed gets suspended it's not going to hurt this team. It could actually be a blessing in disguise because Sheed will get an extra day off to rest up for the post season. McDyess and Dale Davis will step right in to fill his spot.

Obviously his passion is one of the keys to his game, but if he can't have an ounce of self control, things could really go pear-shaped come playoff time.
"I don't care about No. 16," Wallace said. "I'm just going to be cheering from home." LOL. Too, bad their Iron-Man record will end now. It would have been impressive if they went the entire season with the same 5 guys starting each game.
so wait, now every tech he gets is an automatic one game suspension? what if he gets a technical in the playoffs, is he still suspended a game?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MrJ:</div><div class="quote_post">Does anyone know the record for mosting starting lineups? Maybe the Knicks have it?</div> You mean the most starting 5's without missing a game? Pistons hold the record which was held by GS a few seasons ago when they haf Gil, J-rich, Jamison, Murphy, dampier <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">so wait, now every tech he gets is an automatic one game suspension? what if he gets a technical in the playoffs, is he still suspended a game?</div> techinals are re-set for the playoffs.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Skriptz:</div><div class="quote_post">so wait, now every tech he gets is an automatic one game suspension? what if he gets a technical in the playoffs, is he still suspended a game?</div> It's every other technical now for Sheed, but like AllNet said the total goes to 0 in the playoffs. I think after you get 6 in the post season then you'll get suspended.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">R asheed Wallace this season got a technical foul for laughing. He got a technical for hanging on the rim for a split second after a dunk. He got a technical when New York's Steve Francis told him to shut up. Sunday, he picked up his 16th technical, for saying to referee Bennie Adams: "You say that every time." Monday, he drew a one-game suspension. So, what do you think, does Wallace get treated differently from other NBA players? Of course he does. "No doubt about it," Chauncey Billups said. "I tell the refs that all the time. He gets a lot of techs that other guys just won't get." The tougher question, though, is, are the referees treating him unfairly? I will say up front I believe they do. I understand his history. I understand he was often belligerent, abusive and at times physically threatening to officials -- early in his career. There should be a statute of limitations on such things. Wallace is still loud. He's still animated. He's still very chatty. But rarely, since joining the Pistons, has he been abusive in any way. The better officials in the league seem to get this. Guys like Dick Bavetta, Danny Crawford and Steve Javie, they seem more able to separate Wallace's words from the manner in which they are delivered. They seem to get his passion and his competitiveness and cut him some slack for it. I even respect how Joey Crawford handles it. Crawford makes it clear right from the jump he isn't debating every call he makes. He isn't going to hear any talk. Players know where he stands, and they know he is brutally consistent. Thus, they know how to conduct themselves, or at least, they know what the consequences are. Others, like Adams and Bennett Salvatore, seem always on edge around him. It's as if they are just waiting for him to do something, and they tend to overreact to everything he does. "Part of it is his history," coach Flip Saunders said. "I mean, Sheed does take it to the limit. He is an emotional player. But some of the T's are just an accumulation of his talk. My thing is, disrespect. If you disrespect a ref, then you should get a T. Some of his T's, no question, are justified. "Some others, though, aren't." You can certainly argue Wallace has made his bed with the referees, and now he's lying in it. But, guys grow up. Guys mature. It is clear to me Wallace, without sacrificing his passion and his identity, has made efforts to restrain himself. He's not the same guy he was when he was racking up 41 technicals in one season in Portland. Referees are taught not to hold grudges. It's hard not to think many of them overlook that lesson when it comes to Wallace. "He gets treated unfairly because early in his career he might've done some things to get a bad reputation," Tayshaun Prince said. "Now it's to the point where every little thing he says can be a technical foul. There definitely should be a statute of limitations. The last couple of techs that he got, I was standing right next to him and the official to hear what he said. It's unreal the last couple that he got. It has to be a buildup over what he has done over the years and what the refs have labeled him as." Is that fair?</div> Source
