This is what happens when you invest 30 million dollars into a coach who reaches the playoffs 40% of the time. So the answer is no, I will never feel sorry for Nate.
Kinda strange, last summer it seemed was fleeing a horrible situation here in Seattle for the greener pastures of Portland with their young talent, supportive owner and a GM and Prez willing to hand over the reigns of the team to do it 'Nate's way'. Now with Paul Allen bailing out and the team (accoring to Pryzbilla) giving up on the season, Miles just got sent home, Telfair bristling under Nate's heavy hand, Zach Randolph signed to a max deal...it really seems our situation here is better, our own ownership problems aside. Our young bigs are coming on, Wilcox and Watson making things happen and (seemingly) happy to be here, two experienced scorers in Ray and Rashard, capable role players like Collison, Ridnour and Wilkins. I know Nate said he's got no regrets, and I'm sure the 30 mil helps, but you gotta wonder if he's thinking this isn't what he signed up for.
