The Nuggets lost what seemed to be an easy win, 111-109 to the LA Clippers in what may be preview of the 3rd seed vs 6th seed matchup. The Nuggets started strong, outscoring the Clippers 77-57 at halftime. However, the Nuggets scored only 32 points the rest of the way, allowing the Clippers steal one from the staples center. Carmelo Anthony got ejected with about a minute and a half left to play with a technical. He finished with 24 pts, 4 rebs, 5 asts. Marcus Camby added 19 pts and 6 boards but no blocks. DeMarr Johnson added a season high 22 points. Somehow I don't feel that the Clippers tried very hard in this game...or maybe that's just me.
Hopefully Coach Karl gave them a long talk...to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again especially in the playoffs. 77-57 at halftime and then losing is pretty much unacceptable. Im sure they expected the 2nd half to be the same which cost them the game.
