<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Maybe next season, the 76ers should schedule a game in Punxsutawney. The way the latter part of his season has gone, the recent two against the New York Knicks notwithstanding, every game feels like "Groundhog Day." Here's what you need to know about the Sixers after last night's 124-91 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers: Allen Iverson scored 38 points and Willie Green made his season debut, coming back from arthroscopic knee surgery last August. That, and that their defense was pathetic. The only thing clicking was the sound of Comcast SportsNet viewers switching channels. Let the record show that you will get more information here about this game than you probably want; the editors correctly don't want this story to go too long, but they don't want it end here, either. So... The Sixers gave up their highest point total of the season in regulation and allowed the Cavs to score a season high. The Sixers permitted the opponents to shoot at least 50 percent from the floor (56.6 this time) for the third straight game and sixth of their last seven. The Sixers, at 34-39, have not fallen out of the eighth and final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference, but they flew home having lost ground to the No. 9 Chicago Bulls, who moved within a half-game after beating Indiana, 102-96, last night. The Sixers now face the grim reality of taking on the Bulls tonight in the Wachovia Center and again Saturday night in Chicago. Oh, and their margin of defeat, 33, matched the largest of the season. Im just so frustrated..that loss makes me a sad panda. AI and Webber can talk everything they want about how they are getting "it" but the whole team is running around like headless chickens. Pistons should win it all this year...Sheed needs another title.
The Good News: We're only 1 game behind Indiana for the 7th seed. The Bad News: We're only 1/2 game ahead of CHI for the 8th seed, and play them tonight and Saturday. The Best/Worst News (depending on how you look at it): We won't make the playoffs.
