Pound for pound I think AI is better than Wade at this point. He is a better scorer and was just athletic as Wade was when he was younger. AI gets to the rim the same way as Wade does, despite be way smaller. Allen also is a better scorer. Wade may be a more efficient scorer but AI gets the job done so I'm not really complaining. I also think AI has the same playmaking ability as Dwyane does.

The team Wade is on right now has been better than any team Allen has ever played on in the NBA. With that being said Wade has a lot more help, and protection than AI has ever had. because he has teammates that he can actually rely on.

Who cares if the East was weaker when AI took his team to the finals. When you look back at it you won't really remember how weak teams were. When the Spurs and LA were on a dynasty could you go and say, "well the only reason they won so many titles because the east was weak". I don't really think it means anything. The East was weak and so as MJ left the Bulls for the last time, and in my opinion is still weak. You can't go and say that the 76ers Finals run was the product of a weak schedule.

By the way, The dream, its Amare not Amarie.lol

my fault...lol....but the east that year was at one of it's weakest moments in recent history....that year was basically a fluke, the lakers and spurs repeated as champions, therefore they were legit.....my main point is if you ask me right now who I'd take to start a team around it would be Wade without even thinking.....he's younger, isn't close to reaching his full potential, has more length, is clutch, and a better defender.

Tmac made the playoffs that year with Pat Garrity and Andrew Declerq as our starting big men. I hope that tells you how weak it was...

Kobe made the playoffs this year with mihm and kwame as his starting big men. does that mean that this years west is extremely weak and that the mavs making it this was a fluke?

WHY DO PEOPLE SAY THAT? Look at that year Playoff teams that year, yes, it was weak, but that didn't meanit made anything easier for the Sixers. They beat the Pacers in 5 CONTESTED games then that follow a Game 7 in the second round to the Raptors and another Game 7 in the Conference Finals. So it's not like it was a walk through the park despite the fact that East was overall relatively weak, they worked their ass off that year to get to the Finals. Those teams looks weak to us and they were but doesn't mean it was to them because they were all playing to each others level which made very tight series.

sorry, but i still take ai. if dwade plays like this all year next year, then that is a different story. but ai is one of the best guards of all time. wade has to play this high of a level for a few more years for me to take him over ai.

and ai's finals appearance was bananas!

Why? He's better than him right now. If you told any team they could choose either for just next season, every one of them would take Wade. You'd still take Iverson, huh?

Certainly not better than Wade's. Not only did Wade put up better numbers, he actually led his team to 4 wins.

im talking about career wise. wade has no mvp's and no scoring titles. i never siad it was better than wades, but it was rememberable none the less.

I thought it was already established that the purpose of the thread was to choose who the better player is, not who's had the better career.

I mean, Payton has had a better career than Wade (if they both retired right now, Payton would be a sure Hall of Famer, but not Wade). But no one in their right mind would say he's a better player right now though.

Wade is right now better than iverson
people plz dont say wade has no mvps.. he has only been in the league for 3 years.. he has nba finals mvp. been to the asg. won a championship leading his to the chamiponship in only 3 years. dont you think he will be even better next year or the years after that? he will get mvp's sooner or later
but i think that after both of there careers are over, Wade will be considered a better overall player by people. You know why? becuase he has already reached iverson's level in 3 years. he will surpass iverson big time when his career is over. but last year iverson was better. and now this year wade has taken over and surpassed iverson for rest of iverson's career.

I don't want to be mean, but I wasn't so impressed like some others with AI's performance when he went to the finals. Now I was impressed with his heart and the big games he had, but I wasn't impressed with that fact that overall he shot 38.9% FG in those playoffs.

Let's be serious here #1) The East was very weak then, the Bucks who the Sixers played to get to the finals aren't even as good as this years Nets. Iverson shot 34.4% FG against them. #2) Philly was winning a lot more on their defensive ability, than their great offense, and while Iverson made the offense capable enough to survive, the defense of Dikembe, Snow, T.Hill, and Mckie (at that time) was also big for them. There were also guys like Jumaine Jones, and even Raja Bell in a few games.

Also in terms of AI as an All-Time player, I'm not so impressed yet. I feel he's a top guard, but likely not as high as some people would like to rank him. He has guady scoring numbers, but his efficiency makes me cringe, and I don't want to hear the weak team excuse because other guys have had that to without shooting under 40% FG.

Iverson is still close, but Wade is the better player, and the guy I would take.
