<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">(April 5, 2006) -- The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday that forward/centre Chris Bosh will miss the remainder of the season with a sprained left thumb. He suffered the injury during the March 26 contest in Milwaukee. He has missed the past five games, including this evening's game at Indiana. The injury was reevaluated last night by team physician Dr. Paul Marks and Toronto hand specialist Dr. Brent Graham. Bosh is still experiencing tenderness at the base of the thumb, and it was recommended that he sit out the remainder of the season to avoid the potential for a more serious injury to occur. "We are disappointed that Chris will not be able to return this season, but this is the safest and most practical course of action to allow the time necessary for his injury to heal properly," said Bryan Colangelo, Raptors president and general manager. Bosh has appeared in 70 games, averaging a team-best 22.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and 39.3 minutes. He has led the team in scoring 37 times, in rebounds on 46 occasions and in double-doubles with 32. He is the only player in the NBA to average more than 22 points and shoot better than 50 per cent from the field and 80 per cent from the foul line. Bosh had missed only eight games during his three NBA seasons ? seven in his rookie campaign (three with a sprained left ankle and four with a sprained right knee) and one last season with a bruised lower back. </div> Source
The Raptors aren't gonna make the playoffs. It's better to let Chris rest, heal up, and come back stronger next season.
