<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Kris Humphries who returns to his hometown tonight notably lacks a few things as a pro that were once important to him as a collegian: points. In his two NBA seasons, the former Golden Gopher has piled up 459 points, still 170 fewer than the 629 he singed scoresheets with during his single comet-like season in college.
But the still-growing professional compensates by possessing in abundance many things that the Minnesota freshman could only imagine. He's quite a bit wealthier, of course, standard for an NBA first-rounder. But Humphries believes he is markedly wiser and weathered, an NBA rocket
    merely awaiting launch.
"I think I'm developing as a player - my overall game, knowledge of the game, they have improved," Humphries said. "It's just a matter of waiting for an opportunity."
Actually, the opportunity already has come, sort of. As a rookie who was just 19 years old when the Jazz used the franchise's first lottery pick to select him two summers ago, Humphries was thrust into an unexpectedly large role when injuries ravaged the Jazz's season. Save eight games while relegated to the injured list, Humphries played all but seven games last season - a hurry-up education that his coach believes actually set back his development. </div>

I saw the last game of the season on TV. Just as the game ended with the Jazz win, the cameras showed Miller giving the game ball to Ostertag and then panned over to Humphries talking to Harpring...Of course you couldn't tell what they were saying, but Chris said something with a real smirk on his face, and Matt said something very angrily like "shut the**** up!!" More entertaining than the game....I'd love to know what was actually said.

I'm afraid Humphries has an NBA body and a peanut brain.
