Draftexpress has you guys picking Barea with the Spurs pick in this year's draft, I was just wondering how you guys would respond if it really happened? Would you guys be happy thinking you got some potential in another short PG or would you start setting up an assassination plan for Isaiah?

It's not a bad choice reeally, but the draft board is based on talent, not team needs right now.

I know, but knowing Isaiah Thomas, anything is possible. Maybe he'll somehow get you guys a good player with your lottery picks. Maybe even sign you guys the Kandiman some how [IMG]

Team needs have NOT been taken into account in this mock draft.

It says that on the very top, so that explains it.

Not because I'm Puerto Rican, but he will be better than Carlos Arroyo.

no convengo, eres mayaguezano? I think he is a good player, yes, but he will not be as good an NBA player. I can see him having a good career in Spain though.

He's too physical for Spanish league, he belongs in the NBA.

He's a very tough strong player, with athelism. He can dunk at 5"11, and coming out of this class, he's the best passer in the nation. Recently he had 18 assist in 28 minutes in Portsmouth, breaking the record by far. Scouts at Portsmouth said he put on the most amazing preformance they have seen in a long time.

Trust me, Barea is a PLAYER, and he will be th captain of the Puerto Rican national team. He plays to win, and nothing else.

He's been doubted all his life, from high school. All the way back when he was a punk looking scrawny blonde kid.

I don't know, he's good but how well can his game translate over? I saw him play in Canada and seen him on the internet. He needs the ball to work well, and on the Knicks, thats not going to work well with Marbury and Francis. According to that article he's a volume shooter, and not especially reliable and I can agree with that from what I saw. What team do you think would be best suited to him?

Being able to dunk at 5'11 doesn't mean squat. Any reasonably athletic person at 5'10 should be able to dunk. If he has normal length arms thats only 25 inch vertical. I suggested the ACB because I know he's good family in Spain and I can see him doing real feel vs. the competition over there. Is a strong point guard and knows how to use his body.

Again, I didn't say I don't think he will make the NBA or that he doesn't have skills. I just said that he will not be as good as Arroyo.

I've followed Arroyo's career since he was 17, believe, Barea will be better. Arroyo at best will be a 15 and 7 guy in the NBA someday, I believe Barea can be slightly better, he's similar to Nash, guy from a small college, same with Stockon, Gonzaga was a small college at his time. I'm not saying Barea is MVP, or he will ever be an all star, but I really think he will have a long career in the NBA.

in FIBA, the point guards are too finese and perimeter. Barea will fight for a rebound with a 6"11 guy anytime he has the chance, he's too physical for FIBA, and will get alot of fouls cause alot of people flop and refs call cheap fouls in FIBA. I want Barea in the NBA or the NBDL. When he has the balls in his hands, he produces, assist or putting in the basket, he can create ball movement, its been proven in Portsmouth.
