<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A month after suffering a potential season-ending severe ankle sprain, Lakers center Chris Mihm hopes to get back on the practice court today and could return in the coming week. "I'm hoping to try to catch a couple games here before the playoffs come," Mihm said. Mihm ran on his injured right ankle Tuesday, but still has a long road ahead of him. It is painful for him to plant or take off after tearing a ligament on the inside of the ankle and he will have to rehab into the summer. Lakers coach Phil Jackson said last week that Mihm could fill a role coming off the bench and playing six minutes a half in the playoffs. But Jackson first has to decide about including Mihm on the playoff roster. "Obviously, he's not going to be 100 percent by the time the season's over," Jackson said. "We're just going to have to project where he can be." The NBA announced Tuesday that teams will be able to carry 13players on their playoff rosters this season, up from 12 in previous years. They will have to deactivate one player before each game. But teams can't change the players on the roster between rounds. That means including Mihm could come at the expense of excluding a healthy player. Teams have to submit their playoff rosters by noon April 20. "I don't understand why you have 15 (players) all season long and then the playoffs you have 13," Jackson said. "That doesn't make any sense. You're going to have a rule for the regular season, you might as well have it for the playoffs." Mihm was hopeful he could return Sunday against Phoenix. The Lakers' only game after that is their regular-season finale against the Hornets next Wednesday. </div> Source
I think he's gonna have to earn his minutes back. Im really starting to like what kwame is doing for the team right now.
the best thing about this is that hopefully then we can see less of brian "no defense" cook. the guy gets burned all day on defense, and lately, he is missing all his shots. ronny > cook

What's even moer amazing... I'd actually forgive Mitch if he managed to get that ugly man into pruple and gold...hopefully without giving away the other ugly tall man on our team...(LO and acutally he aint ugly..he a straight pimp)
lol, what a dumb rule for playoffs.....but to Mihm. I think he is okay but for KG, I'd take "that ugly man" anyday of the week. All we can do is pray

Very interesting on Mihm's return. He will without a doubt not be starting anymore this season (and post season) Phil Jackson has already stated in an article that Kwame will stay in the starting center role. I feel really bad for Mihm and the injury he has gone through because although the Lakers have grown as a team without him, I do not see him starting anymore now that Kwame Brown has been playing well. I know deep down Chris is happy that his Lakers team is making it to the playoffs, but I think at the same time he is kind of disappointed in Kwame's success because it has cost him his starting role, which before he got injured, he was putting up great numbers and his starting Center position was not threatened at all.
I think Mihm should just play his game. He is a asset on the bench and can really lift the Lakers when needed. Accept the role you p lay and you will be a champion in the end. Steve Kerr just shot 3's and he owns more rings than half the legendary stars out of the NBA. IT tells you something doesnt it.
I actually think Mihm's game is better suited for PF in the Triangle offense. He has a nice shot from mid range and could crash the boards from the weakside for easy baskets. His skillset is a lot closer to what Horace Grant was doing for the Bulls than Kwame's skillset. On defense, Kwame can guard the better offensive option of the opposing team, while Mihm lurks for shotblocks.
It's going to be interesting to see him play(if he does play) on Wednesday. He's missed so many games it might take him a while to get back into the flow of things.
I would like Kwame to be PF, and Mihm to be C. BUT! Kwame guards the opposing C, and Mihm like Tyson Chandler does plays off the ball waiting for the shot block.

He's a lot more comfortable one or two feet away from the hoop, than 10 or 12.
