    Happy B-day dude.

It's too bad the warriors weren't also in the hunt. I just can't help but feel the Warriors will play differently anytime games start to matter.

Also, it's looking like Ellis/Ike could be a deadly inside/outside combo with some seasoning. It sure beats the Fisher/Murphy/Foyle lineup in certain aspects. Who knows... maybe Ellis and Ike could be the open court/half court dynamic duo. It doesn't matter what tempo we play, they both excel in either game because of their skills and physical abilities. Ike and Ellis can both finish above the rim which is really nice to have.

Exactly. Play out the scrubs and hope they get traded (probably seems unreliastic to get anything good back). I already know (well I think I know) that Ellis and Diogu will be consistent studs on a game to game basis (possibly future starters some day). But damn, don't get other teams salivating over the fact we've mispent money on the wrong guys and they could go after our players knowing we can't fit everyone within the budget. Cohan ain't really Mr. money bags in a game of super billionaire owners.

That's why I'm not in a hurry to push rookies into a starter's role yet when it makes us stuck with some expensive role players that don't come off the books until 2009. There's definitely a strategy in all this. It's to make "timing" a part of the game and not get caught up in trying to break the consecutive playoff absentee record. It's not about win now, it's about building that foundation that will hold the team in place and going into it with a lot of momentum so it gets better every year. I think general management is one of those jobs that takes a few years to do, and you constantly have to have the right opportunities before you and you need to think three steps ahead. If we have a good big man and a nice inside/outside threat on the perimeter, we might build around that by spending money wisely in the right places.

Who knows. Ellis and Diogu might be those guys in the future, not necessarily Jrich or Baron. A lot guys like Antoine Walker or Jerry Stackhouse or Michael Finley put up big numbers and make the all-star team, but it's really about the guy who is going to do a lot of things at an efficient clip. If we got a small man, big man tandem that can make each other better while shooting better than 45% + 5 guys total that can play d on the court all at once, we might have something.

"At the end of the season every year, they play like this," said Darrell Armstrong, who had four points for Dallas. "They play good, but they ain't going no ... where."

    A-hole.

I think he's still pissed off when Monta crossed him up and torched him to the rack. [IMG]

Its true what he said though. I mean give us some credit for sweeping them on their own court and beating them at our place. They sound kind of bitter. But its still true. I turned on the TV this morning to watch the game since I TVoed it. It was my first time doing it. I can not find where to find the game. I think it might have had something to do with the power to our apartment shut off at around midnight last night. Maybe the Warriors win over the Mavs caused a city wide power surge. Its like they broke a natural law of physics or something... lol

But I was happy when while looking for the game Sportscenter came on and I saw all the highlight dunks....

Lol, the truth does hurt. Hes right but it was still uneccessary, actually, we've been playing terrible down the stretch this season and we've beaten the Mavs twice earlier in the season. Anyway, hes just grumpy, a good nights rest in his assisted living apartment and a breakfast at 5 AM at Denny's should cheer his old ass up.

    Keys to last night's win:

    -Adonal played 13 minutes.
    -Warriors controlled the boards.
-Dunleavy didnt play great but nice all around game, 9pts/7reb/2ast/2blk
-Rookies played very efficiently and gave us tons of hustle. Ike: 22pts, 9 reb, 2 blocks on 5-7 FG, 12-13 FT. Monta: 17pts, 3 reb, 4 ast, 1 steal, 1 block in 28 minutes.
-FREE THROWS, Warriors shot 81 percent at the line and got there 43 times (mostly thanks to Ike who only took 7 shots), you know its a good night when Biedrins hits 75% of his free throws. Ike was 12-13 at the line and J-Rich was 10-12.
-"Veterans" were pretty efficient, Fisher had 11 points and 9 assists on 4-8 FGs. Murphy had 16 pts, 6 rebs, and 3 ast on 7-10 FGs.
-I'll give some props to Monty as well, he didn't have any glaring mistakes that I noticed but to me this win should be totally creditted to the rookies. Good idea putting Biedrins on Dirk late in the game though, Biedrins is very quick and lanky, really put Dirk out of a rhythm before Troy came back in.

I can't even imagine how loud it was. The announcers said it was so loud that Diogu didn't hear the foul call when he gave Diop a facial.

Yeah I was wondering how loud it would be on TV. I'm glad it was loud because the game was on national TV and people around the world could see how we do in the BAY AREA!

Everyone loves the player that can absolutely throw it down to make a statement inside the paint. Jrich/Ike/Ellis/Baron. Guys who show quite a versatile game and can take it strong inside with authority to get the crowd and the whole team into it. Now just imagine what will happen when Ike/Ellis reach their upside or if Mickael Pietrus actually grows some bball smarts (I feel bad for Pietrus on this one because he probably had the talent to be a good starting type of ballplayer, but I don't think he was coached properly at an early age to be a shooting guard). Any guard position you have to be a student of the game of basketball knowing how to shoot/dribble/pass in numerous ways. Now when your big men can finish above or below the rim like Ike Diogu, know the game as well as how most guards are expected to, you got a real player coming off the bench or probably starting someday. I'm seeing Ike Diogu as a type of Zach Randolph/Elton Brand player and it's going to be awesome. He's definitely not soft or unaggressive, he just wants the ball and to dominate.

Next year I want to see a lineup of

    Baron
    Monta
    J-Rich
    Diogu
    Biedrins

Have Pietrus play back up shooting guard, Monta playing back up point with Dunleavy behind Monta, Dunleavy backing up small forward, Murphy at the PF backup, and Taft at back-up C.

We definitely get dribble penetration and floor vision from two spots rather than just one or none since Jrich or Dunleavy or Fisher aren't outstanding in busting up the defenses in zone or close man-to-man coverage. We got low post presence with Ike Diogu (who is also a good passer with some court vision) and Biedrins. Both hustle and work very hard at contesting shots, boxing out, rebounding, setting picks and screens. They are very aggressive all the time, just wait until they get older and bigger. Murphy and Foyle will look like Raggedy Anne and Andy in comparrison.

Looks promising both inside and out even though our free throw % is going to go to crap with a bunch of 68 % free throw shooters and a guy who shoots like 40% at the line. The guards also better not be overshooting it because the big men need to score or else they're going to do the Dampier or Shaq type of pouting. It could very well happen to Ike or Biedrins if Baron is doing the Diddy Suffle for 18 seconds or Ellis can't feed the post without forcing the big guy to give up post position and then being out of position to receive the pass back.

I'd rather it be the Diddy-Shuffle than the Fisher-Flatfoot.
