    Horrible news...

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He joined the Griz in late January with a chance to answer a series of questions, and Atkins is looking good heading into the final round -- the playoffs.

"It's crazy," Atkins said Thursday after practice. "Crazy things happen sometimes in the NBA."

So call Atkins crazy. He wants to remain a Grizzly.

Roughly 21/2 months into what amounts to a fast-paced audition for the rest of the league, Atkins will consider Memphis first when he becomes a free agent this summer.

He's traveled a long way on the basketball court since that late-January early morning when Atkins sat in Washington's Reagan National Airport, waiting to board a plane to Miami in order to join the Grizzlies. </div>

It's odd; the sportswriters in Memphis love Atkins. He's a cancer though. If we had a real point running our team, we'd be serious title contenders.

This summer we should really retool in the backcourt: Atkins shouldn't be resigned, Stoudamire (if healthy) and Jackson should be packaged for a pass-first point like Andre Miller, and we should look into drafting Marcus Williams or Rajon Rondo. If we did all of the above, our team would be in great shape.

Well, yes, everything I say is my opinion. [IMG]

What part about that do you find biased though? It's pretty clear that we need to get rid of Jackson, Stoudamire, and Atkins. It's also clear that Rondo and Williams would be good choices for us in the draft, if they slip to us that is. The only really subjective part of my post is the trade proposal; what was so wrong with it?

sucks for you guys. i dont know how you can stand seeing atkins chuck up brick after brick, and then go back on defense and get burned by the opposing point guard. kind of sad, really. i feel bad for any team that has to see chucky in their uniform.
