They will need to keep it going Friday against the Miami Heat if they are going to keep pace in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. The 76ers won their second straight game Wednesday, posting a 116-96 road victory over the New Jersey Nets. Allen Iverson collected 40 points and 10 assists and Chris Webber returned from a two-game absence with a back strain to contribute 18 points and 11 rebounds. Philadelphia is tied with Chicago for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Indiana and Milwaukee are just one game ahead of the duo, but the Sixers lose the tiebreakers against all three teams.</div> ESPN A must win. I say our momentum keeps our surge going and we pull out 106-97.
I'm confident in the Sixers in this game and if Wade doesn't play, it's a very winnable game. We got the momentum, the Heat aren't really playing for much and so forth. If we can jump on them early we could run away with the game like we did against NJ.
if wade doesnt play, i see no way the sixers can lose. well, actually i can since they are the sixers, but the way they have been playing recently seems like they are actually showing some signs of urgency. with that said, i dont see the sixers losing to a wadeless miami heat, and a shaq that is not 100% btw, its good to see aznx and avery posting here again. things have gotten pretty bland in this forum lately.
Geez i wonder why this "SIXERS" forum has been very "bland" recently lol Hmm....could it be because the Sixers suck?!!?!?!?!!??!

Breaking News! sixers suck <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The phrase is one Pat Riley has repeated often of late, and it was written again in the Miami Heat locker room on Friday night. "Finish the task." His team did just that, with Dwyane Wade getting 25 points and eight assists to beat Philadelphia 76ers 104-85 and secure the Eastern Conference's No. 2 playoff seed and home-court advantage for the first two postseason rounds. Udonis Haslem scored a career-high 24 points and tied a season high with 14 rebounds for the Heat, who got contributions from all over the lineup. Antoine Walker scored 16 points, Shaquille O'Neal had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Gary Payton scored 10 points for Miami, which avoided what Riley called "the ultimate nightmare" -- slipping behind New Jersey and finishing as the East's No. 3 seed. Allen Iverson scored 30 points and Chris Webber added 17 and nine rebounds for the Philadelphia, which lost for the first time in four games. The 76ers entered the night tied with Chicago for the East's final postseason spot. Haslem scored 19 points -- matching what was his season high -- in the first half alone for Miami, which used a 36-12 run over a 12-minute stretch to take control. </div>
Could the scheduling have any better perfect timing? We get Miami, and Chicago gets the Wizards. And Ben Gordon was 9-9 behind the ark.
We can't really complain about the scheduling, because we didn't take advantage of a lot of games over the course of the season. Atleast the scheduling down the stretch is fairly even, and both teams are playing pretty much the same opponents. Chicago still has to go to Miami and Orlando. We have to pretty much win our final 3 games, and hope Chicago loses 2 of their remaining games. If we lose again, we are basically out... not that we have a great shot right now anyway.
BigMo's right, we still have a decent chance of making the playoffs. Like he said, Chicago face Miami, Orlando, and Toronto while we have to face Orlando, Charlotte, and New Jersey. Pretty even matchups there. Orlando has been very hot lately so we're going to have to overcome that as well as facing a vengeful New Jersey team (maybe, they might just rest the players up though) later on. These three games for both teams will be a big test on who wants the playoff spot more. Personally, I want them to pull out and get the playoff spot, but thats just opinion. I just hope all of the guys take this game's loss and feeds off of it.
It would be nice if the Magic actually make the playoffs, but Philly needs to beat Chicago and lose all of the rest of their games and Chicago must lose all of their remaining games as well while the Magic continues their hot streak It is a huge, long shot, but it is a shot after all. Wonder when Fran Vanquez or whatever his name is coming to Orlando?
