<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[IMGR]http://www.nba.com/media/bulls/gordon_300_060414.jpg[/IMGR]The Chicago Bulls relied heavily on the shooting touch of Ben Gordon.

Gordon scored 32 points - including tying an NBA record by making nine 3-pointers without a miss - to help the Bulls escape with a 103-101 victory over the struggling Washington Wizards, who lost their fifth straight game.

A 6-3 combo guard, Gordon had the stroke going on Friday. The reigning Sixth Man of the Year tied the record that was set by former New York Knick Latrell Sprewell against the Los Angeles Clippers on Feb. 4, 2003.

"I didn't know how many three's I had honestly," said Gordon, who added five assists. "I didn't even know, I did not miss or anything. I was just letting them ride."

"It's also hard to beat a team when a guy goes 9-for-9 from the 3-point range," said Wizards All-Star guard Gilbert Arenas, who scored 36 points. "We just didn't do anything different against him all night because we didn't know he was shooting that well until we saw the stat sheet after the game."

With Gordon leading the way, Chicago (38-41) moved one game ahead of Philadelphia (37-42) for the Eastern Conference's final playoff spot with three games left.

"This is the time of year to be doing things like that," Gordon said. "This is the playoff run so I am focusing in and trying to do everything I can to help us win."

Trailing 87-81, the Bulls reeled off a 14-0 run to take the lead as Gordon, who went 11-of-18 from the floor, made three 3-pointers during the burst.

"We had the momentum at that point," Gordon said. "You can get a run on a team like Washington, you just know they are going to comeback though. Fortunately we held them off and got the win."

Washington answered with a 14-4 surge to take a 101-100 lead. Antonio Daniels found Jared Jeffries for a dunk with 62 seconds remaining to cap the spurt.

"It just seems like we have been in a ton of these type of games," Wizards coach Eddie Jordan said. "We played very hard, when a guy goes nine-for-nine though you have to suck it up."

However, Gordon answered with his record tying shot with eight seconds later from the left corner. Jeffries then was called for charging with four-tenths of a second remaining.

"I decided to attack and he was back peddling," said Jeffries, who scored 13 points. "I felt (Andres) Nocioni was out of position, it's just the referee saw it different so I have to take it."

"It's a difficult situation but I choose to take the charge," said Nocioni, who scored 17 points. "I was set in my spot and he came at me out of control, we got the call."

Kirk Hinrich had 19 points and eight assists while Luol Deng added 16 off the bench for the Bulls, who shot 47 percent (40-of-85), including an impressive 13-of-21 showing from the arc.

Daniels collected 20 points and eight assists and Antawn Jamison added 16 points and nine rebounds for Washington (39-40), which fell into a three-way tie with Indiana(39-40) and Milwaukee (39-40) for fifth place in the East.

"This one hurt's because no one want's to lose a game like this," said Arenas, who scored 17 points in the first quarter. "You definitely don't want to lose on a charging call at the end of game, it's the NBA though and those things happen."</div>

How do you not notice a guy scoring 30 plus? the wizards always have something to say when the bulls win. Its like they think our win was luck.
And the funny part is like the bulls, the wiz are having a sub par season. Especially considering their lineup. But great game ben!!!

    Go Bulls!

I don't know if Nocioni had his feet planted for that charging call but we had the momentum and the home court advantage and those things affect the refs decisions. haha, but to me it was a great call.
