Thread title has nothing to do with the thread....just a poor attempt at some wit. So tonight is the last home game of the year (anybody else going). But what's bigger than that is that we get to see Wilcox go against Elton Brand, and Radmonvic's return. On Gametime Sports (1620AM MWF 1pm-3pm) they were talking about how it's going to be interesting to see the crowds reaction to Radman. I was thinking it would be pretty hilarious if me and my homies snuck in a sign that said "Radmanobitch". I really don't hate the guy all that much, but I think he's childish. Anyway, go supes.
Chris doesn't look like he's playing? Guess his sprained foot must be pretty bad because I know he really wanted to play in this game. Just seen a bit, but Vlad seems to be off his game, losing the ball on his drives and missing an open 3. Ray Allen looks to be on fire...
Radman was booed (unfairly IMHO) every time he touched the ball...looked like he might touch the ball, or even was shown on the monitors near the three point line. That was nothing compared to the fact that Vin Baker got booed just for showing up on the monitors while sitting idly on the bench. Radman hit some big shots for us over the years. He saved the franchise from overpaying a no defense, no rebounding, streaky shooter by refusing the $42M offer. He agreed to a trade (which he didn't have to agree to, and which virtually guaranteed he lost his ability to get anything better than the mid-level next year by killing his Bird rights) which brought the most exciting post player since Kemp to Seattle. Additionally that exciting post player comes as an RFA which means he can be kept if they want him. Exactly why are we mad at him? As for Baker. The guy has a disease. The FO was foolish to give him that HUGE contract when they knew he was an alcoholic. However, his contract and all of the trimmings came off the books during the Sonics 52 win season last year, so we should just get over it and spend our energy convincing the City Council that their jobs are at stake over the fact that they are proving themselves to be complete idiots around the Arena issue. Whether you think the city should pay or not, the posturing and non-answers by the city are foolish. Say no or say yes let's find a reasonable deal to make this work, but don't wait until the last minute to launch another "study" and play stupid games with the State and the Sonics and the people of Seattle by saying that you want to "really understand" all of your options before you negotiate.
You gotta love Calabro for his comments throughout the game...on how the Sonics have been in Seattle for 39 years and that Seattle loves its basketball etc. KC is the best.
