Feeley and a 7th rounder to the Chargers for their 3rd stinger - Cleo Lemon. From hat I've read, Lemon has more upside, athleticism, & a better attitude. Further, this is a salary cap move. AJ was scheduled to make 3.1 million next year. Miami will save 2.3 million by dumping his salary now. Actually, that figure is approx 2 million when you factor in Lemon's salry Saban & Mueller have a great sense of humor; giving up a lemon for Lemon.
Rivers will definately be gone, he needs football. Look at the QB that went in that draft and look what they are doing for their teams Eli Manning Big Ben J.P ..... sorry that should be left out! huh TKO?
More about Cleo Lemon http://www.chargers.com/team/roster_detail...first_name=Cleo I like him already. Son of teachers w/ a passion for books - just like yours truly.
I got to see him play in the Pre-Season a few times and really liked him, he's got some nice foot work, he has enough speed to take off when he needs to but no need to worry about him becoming a Vick like runner.
I feel kinda bad for A.J. Feeley. Because he was Spielman's acquisition, he was rejected by both coaches that he had while with the Dolphins. He was never given a vote of confidence. I think Feeley pressed to much because he always knew that he was a short hook. Frerotte gave away the football, against the Bills, like they were fruitbaskets, but he didn't get pulled and I think that helped him keep his confidence. Frerotte made some big plays late in the game. I do think that Feeley needed to go. Hopefully, Rosenfelds won't carry that same stigma and Saban will make his choices, as to who plays, by performance and not politics.
I'm agree w/ what Dale said about AJ never having a vote of confidence. Here is where I will have to trust Nick. I am sure there is something he saw and never released publicly that hastened AJF's departure. I heard that AJ's has a prima donna attitude and is not 100% focused on where his paycheck is coming from.
Yeah, I'd thought that they would take Rivers instead of Lemon. But I guess they saw something in the preseason I didn't. Yes, Rivers may be in the market this offseason if Brees is continuing the success he has so far.
That hurts I bet. You gave up a 2nd rounder for him and in return you get a 7th rounder and a guy named Cleo.

Nick Saban is doing the best with the hand that the previous regime left him.
If you really want to break it down Miami gave up a 2nd (Feeley), got a 2nd (Surtain to KC) with which they drafted Matt Roth . Gave up AJ & & 6 and get Cleo. All in all, Saban & Mueller are doing a great job cleaning up that giant vanilla stain left in South Florida
