As it turns out, this same group informally casts ballots for all the big NBA awards. It's not official, but it shows that two Nets could get some recognition next month when the awards are announced: Jason Kidd, for his defense and overall performance, and Nenad Krstic, for his improvement.</div> Source
I don't think anybody on our team has a real chance to win an award: Coach of the Year: Frank might get some votes, but not very likely to win. Maybe 4th or 5th place. Most Improved: Nenad has really improved, but not nearly like Boris Diaw, David West and a few others. He'll probably be in the top 5 in votes, though. 6th Man: We don't really have one, unless you count Cliff as one. But he's been in and out of the starting lineup so much, that I don't even know if he's a 5th or 6th man. He probably will get only 1 or 2 votes, max. Defender of the Year: Kidd might get some recognition, but he can't beat guys like Bowen, Artest or Wallace. MVP: Kidd won't win, but maybe he'll get a vote or two. All NBA Teams: Kidd or Carter might make the 3rd team, but it's gonna be tough with all the great guards this season. All Defense Teams: Kidd might somehow make the 2nd team. I think the guy most likely to win an award this year for the Nets is Vaughn, for the Community Assist. lol.
