Well I don't think Delonte is a legit number 1 PG. I think maybe Randy Foye or Marcus Williams(if he declares) would be a great fit in Boston. Also, maybe a big man would help to like maybe Josh Boone from UCONN.

I also think delonte is a better PG than you're going to get in this years draft (I'm a biased fan though) Foye would be agood pick, but he's a 2 IMO we'll see what happens, I think we should try to get a legit Center because, although i like Perk, I think he's not a greay 5.
Wow, barely any activity, I thought the Celtics forum was active. Anyways, back on topic. First off, I think the Celtics should trade the pick and someone decent like Raef for a better player or an upgrade at a position they need, if not I think they should go for it and Draft Shelden Williams, IMO he will be one of the best players in this years draft class, he has all the tools and the work ethic to be a great player if not he'll still be good. He wont be a bust, I can tell you that much.
I also think the celtics may be looking to trade this pick. They already have more kids than they know what to do with and im sure there are plenty of teams that would like to get a top 10 pick depending on where the celts pick and whos there. I also think Delonte can be a top point guard in the NBA but Iwouldnt mind to see the celts pick a point guard but I dont thinkk theres going to be any real good ones available. as for finding a center, its not even every year that there a solid center in the entire draft especially from the collegiate ranks. I think people need to start looking at Perkins as our center of the future. He's shot blocking machine and a general physical presence down low with the potential to be a great rebounder and adequate scorer. I dont see what else you need in a center. If we could make a trade for another star big man to pair with Perk and with Gomes and Raef (if hes still here) coming off the bench that would be an outstanding big rotation
yea a trade wouldn't be a bad idea but if it's a late lottery pick I don't think you'll get much it will have to be top 10 IMO.
well seeing as the celtics have the 7th worst record in the NBA right now I'd say its pretty likely that theyre going to get a top 10 pick.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting olskoolFunktitude:</div><div class="quote_post">well seeing as the celtics have the 7th worst record in the NBA right now I'd say its pretty likely that theyre going to get a top 10 pick.</div>Yeah, if they stay where they are record-wise, the worst possible pick they could get is ten, but that's basically impossible. So the most likely possibilities are 7 or 8 if they don't win a top 3 pick in the lottery. But anyways, it's hard for me to say what to do with the pick without knowing where it will be. There's only a handful of guys I want this year, so I'm with those who say trade it away if it's not in the top three.
i thought that only teams with the worst 3 records could get top 3 picks. or is it just the teams with the worst 3 records that have a chance to get teh nunmber 1 pick?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting olskoolFunktitude:</div><div class="quote_post">or is it just the teams with the worst 3 records that have a chance to get teh nunmber 1 pick?</div> Every lottery team gets a chance at the #1 pick.

I think the Celts should go with a SF possibly Rodney Carney if they could get him. Lafrentz juss aint cuttin it.
Obviously... <div class="quote_poster">Quoting cliplove777:</div><div class="quote_post">How is delonte not a legit number 1 PG. He's having a great 2nd year. 12 PPG and 4 ASS. I also could see any of the following players being moved potentially LaFrentz, Scalabrine, Dickau, Orien Green or possibly even Al Jefferson if the right deal presented itself (if they can get a Carney or Gay with Gomes already aboard, they could just pick up Craig Smith in the second round and upgrade). If HS Seniors were allowed to declare, imagine if Greg Oden announced he was entering the draft what a frenzy there'd be...instead he's going to be part of the next Fab 5 over at Ohio State. Damn, I was right to leave...No one even posts here! It's DEAD. One.
Odds suggest Boston will end with about pick 6. Tough to know which way they'll go because there are no clear top picks. I can't see them taking a tweener, but at the same time, this is a tweener draft. At a guess i'd say they'd take Foye, although i don't think he's worth anything above pick 8. I guess McRoberts from Duke is another option, although it'd create a logjam at the 4.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GrnDynsty:</div><div class="quote_post">They'd definiteely want to draft either Rodney Carney or Rudy Gay from where they are. </div> Boston already have Paul Pierce, Wally World, Gerald Green and Tony Allen. I know Carney/Gay will likely be the best talent avaiiable at their pick, but i reckon they'd be foolish to create an even bigger logjam. Obviously if a trade involving Pierce occured you'd look at it again, but as it stands i think it'd be foolish to draft a 3.

We got folks who post here as much as they can in thrilla, postpoint, bigdave, squishface, me and cameos from other folks! Id love to see more activty on the board too but people have lives y'know? Might not see it pick up in the next month or so as teh celts are out of the playooffs but Im sure we'll have plenty to keep track of and talk about as we get to summer league so we don't need you or you're "One."!!! .....or stay. the more the merrier! JBBCeltics fans ROCK ROCK ON! anyway I still can't see the celtics keeping their draft pick. Its a shame that it had to be this year that they had such a bad record because I just dont see anyone in the draft thats gonna be a cinch to be better than what they already have. Just think! If this had happened a few years ago we wouldve had a shot at a Dwayne Wade or a Chris Bosh

So a PG like Foye would be good for the Celtics.
Foyle is talented no doubt, but if the celtics bring in a point gaurd in the offseason I feel like it HAS to be a veteran one
