ok. ive given sasha quiet some time to prove to me how he deserved a spot in the roster. well, after two seasons, i still dont know why mitch drafted him and i still dont know why he is on the roster. face it. sasha sucks. in the begining of the year he was taking charges and drawing offensive fouls, but now it has stopped. the guy is worthless on defense. sure, he shows heart, but that doesnt take away the fact that he sucks. he is pesky at times and gets under players skins, but that doesnt stop them from scoring 30 points on him. now it has come to the point where i think he is our worst offensive player. before it was luke, but now hes actually making shots. sasha? the guy was considered a great shooter and a three point specialist. why have a three point specialist on the team when he doesnt make his shots? im starting to question sasha's work ethic. ive read everywhere that he is a gym rat and ect. but then how come he still hasnt improved on his shot at all? also, how come he is still the skinniest player on our roster? sasha is still young, so he has plenty of time to prove me wrong, but as of now, i really think he is our second worse player on the roster. second to only aaron mckie, which isnt saying much at all. duhhh........ im mitch kupchak and sasha vujacic is good <div align="center"> </div>
Sasha hasnt shown up as of late, they should trade him in the offseason for someone like Voshon Lenard if they really need a three point shooter, which would be nice or they could let Sasha stay wait to see if he improves and when his contract runs out if there not happy let him leave, and just sign a different FA to fill our needs.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">second to only aaron mckie,</div> You can't just diss him, he has been injured and yet to show his worth. Sasha I kind of like. Sure he sucks on defense, sure his shots don't always fall but guess what, its his 2nd season in the NBA, he is only 22, and he has the potential of these stats. http://www.nba.com/draft2004/profiles/SashaVujacic.html I think he is okay, his three point percentage his greatly improved over last year so I don't know what your talking about he hasn't improved. Don't be so harsh on young blood. Now if it was like his 4th or 5th year with us and yet to produce then I would agree.
He's actually an above average defender. He gets inside players heads, when was the last time somebody got in the head of Allen Iverson and Mike Bibby? I remember in the first meeting between the Lakers and 76'ers when Iverson elbowed him in the face and made his lip bleed. He's a streaking shooter that should play limited minutes. When I see him on the court he brings intensity. I think he should be brought on when certain players are on the court, from what I've seen if he comes on without somebody like Kobe on the court, the other team start winning.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Laker_fan:</div><div class="quote_post">He's actually an above average defender. Sasha is not an above average defender. He gambles too much, for every point he takes away, he gives up 3 or 4 baskets. When he was being scouted, he supposedly had "flawless shooting skills" I have yet to see them. Sasha is not good, nor will he ever be. He's a guy who can occasionally hit shots, don't look for him to be resigned when his contract is up.
I know I posted a thread about him earlier in the season. I still think he sucks. Drop him like a bad habit at the end of the season Mitch.
agreed. I think we can get a better player than sasha for our pg backup. He's not even a solid PG. he's more like a bad shooting guard.
Did you see him play against the Suns? The dude takes horrible shots, and it's apperent that he's either really nervous or his shot style just really sucks cause the shots always miss and either go out of bounds or up and over the backboard. Furthermore, he makes horrible passes on offense and looks like one those players who can't seem to handle the spotlight. However, he did make it to the NBA so he must be good; just maybe not on the spotlight and stage which is essentially the most vital thing. The dude REALLY needs to work on his shot.
I saw him against the suns, and I realized just how ugly his form is, he throws his whole body into his shot and over powers it. I still like his hustle but thats all I like about him, I think Devin Green and Von Wafer should be playing more minutes than this guy.
hustle without some kind of control and skill wont get you anywhere.. I might as well play for the Lakers. I can hustle and look intense, but Im not a very good ball player. lol
Well if Phil let's him have this many minutes, he's gotta be doing something to impressive him. Despite what you guys say, I personally think his defense ain't to bad, like today, it's just his consistency from game to game. He does have a pretty damn descent shot, once he slows himself down, but he plays like he's on speed sometimes, doesn't give himself enough time to set up properly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDFNs6kEq8A...sasha%20vujacic
there's two ways you can tell Sasha has an excellent shot ... his high FT% and his 3pt makes are almost always all net ... The problem with him is that he rushes and often plays anxious. But the kid plays hard, he's not afraid to shoot, he hits the boards and he passes well. Oh yea, his Asst/To is 3:1 .. He's only 22 years old, give him some time. Once he matures, he could end up being a very nice role player.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">there's two ways you can tell Sasha has an excellent shot ... his high FT% and his 3pt makes are almost always all net ... </div> actually, most of his shots are bricks. he even bricks wide open shots too. a "shooter" should at least knock down an open shot. but sasha has shown consistently that he cant do that
Give the guy a chance, he has room to improve. I didn't hear anyone complaining when he did this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LLtL9FOg1I...sasha%20vujacic How is everyone going to degrade a 2nd year, who gets 17 mpg, and his 3% has gone up? Though I do agree Von Wafer should get more time on the court, I'm gonna gamble and say I can see him easily getting 10ppg.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Brian:</div><div class="quote_post">actually, most of his shots are bricks. he even bricks wide open shots too. a "shooter" should at least knock down an open shot. but sasha has shown consistently that he cant do that</div> He said most of the shots he "makes" are swishes. Sasha is good on D because he forces turnovers. Of course we wouldn't want him to play a whole game but he can be an OK roleplayer. He seems in a rush when he shoots, if he takes his time with his shot, it will go in. I'm sure he'll start to understand this with time.
well, most of everyones shot that makes are swishes. sasha does force turnovers on defense at times with his hustle, but like i said, besides that he is worthless. the guy cant really guard anyone on D, he just annoys them. anyway, i do agree that i may have been too harsh on him, but still. its pretty sad how you were drafted to be a shooter and now even luke walton can hit shots more consistently than you

He is only a few years into the league. he will expand his game and become a better player. If coaches gave up on players that fast then we definitely wouldn't have a lot of the stars in the league that we have today. He will come around and contribute for the team. Possibly in the playoffs. We will see....
