The Grizzlies have won all three meetings between the teams by an average of 9.6 points, and are 11-8 against the Rockets since moving to Memphis for the 2001-02 season. Memphis and the Los Angeles Clippers, who they will play Tuesday, have already clinched playoff berths and are jockeying for the fifth seed with three games remaining. That will be a tough spot to be in, as the fifth seed will face either the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs or the Dallas Mavericks. The Grizzlies have never earned higher than a sixth seed and were swept in their prior two postseason appearances, so forward Shane Battier said his team is focused on finishing strong. </div> Yahoo! Uneventful game. Van Gundy needs to give up this "play to win" schtick, because it's only making him and the team look pathetic when they continuously lose. The Rockets are the team-equivalent of Ryan Bowen. Just play the young guys, damn it.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jerry West:</div><div class="quote_post">This was a nice moment though </div> I missed that one. Was it a particularly nasty block or something?
Alston's 6-2, while Wright's 6-11. Wright probably didn't even have to jump (I missed the game). Personally, I prefer the Swift one, even as a Rockets fan, that one was just sick nasty. Anyways, Van Gundy needs to just start playing the young guys in order to evaluate them and whether they'll fit on the team next season. Whats the point of paying them money if all they do is sit on the bench? Plus Hayes actually shows that he is better than both the powerforwards in front of him in the rotation and yet, he barely gets minutes.
I find it stupid that Van Gundy is still playing his 40 year old guns when he can play guys who are slobbering for minutes and haven't got a chance to prove themselves while these old guyz do nothing but wear down
