Ok. The Raptors are in the rebuilding mode (WHAT, WHOA! AWESOME, REALLY!?) . Who would you rather build your franchise around on, if it came down to it? Chris Bosh or Vince Carter; take your mindsets away from all the injuries and all those variables. Just think about how the franchise will favour each possibility. Who is more favourable to build a franchise on or who is easier to build a franchise on? And also, who would have had more success? I'm very curious what other Raps fans think and even, non-Raps fans.
Well of course it's Chris Bosh, he's younger and has loads of talent. if we're comparing Bosh to a young healthy Vince Carter that was compared to MJ? Then I'd take Vince anyday.
I'm sorry, I should've emphasized on that a little bit more. I wanted to compare Chris Bosh as an all-star now and Vince Carter, who was supposedly the "heir" to Jordan.
OO Now's Chris Bosh to VC in what many think was his prime? Vince all day he could do it all. He'd be on Kobe's level IMO if it weren't for those injuries.
Back when VC did'nt have the injuries I would pick him, but right now I'd pick Bosh because he is younger.
Any team if there first starting out would take VC if he was younger, I can already tell you most raptor fans are gonna say Cb and disreguard all the other stuff. If im starting out there both rookies id take vince
Ok, so if they were both rookies...then who would you pick? I think both have become very exciting players to watch, though Vince has an edge on that. In my opinion, I would pick Bosh simply because he can do just about everything. He's long, can score at ease, can shoot, and is unselfish. Bosh has also become known as a player that is very easy to coach. How many coaches did the Raps go through having Vince around? Also, as far as I can remember, management and the team in general was always shaky with Carter around. On the other hand, the franchise has been in my perception, in a much steadier state with having Bosh as their main goal.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting playmaker15:</div><div class="quote_post">He'd be on Kobe's level IMO if it weren't for those injuries.</div> No way. Injuries or no injuries, he can never match Kobe's desire and intensity. He's in a great situation now because he's got guys around him so he doesn't have to be the "star" every night. He needs guys around him. When he was younger maybe, but not anymore. You put Vince in Kobe's place on the Lakers and there would be no way they would even make the playoffs.

If I was starting of with Bosh and Carter as rookies though? Hmm, to me that question is hard, I mean you imagine the Raptors with Carter and Mike James, or Carter/Mike James/Bosh? Carter always asked for that other guy to take the burden off, Bosh has that guy in Mike James right now. I don't know just how successful this year would have been for Bosh without Mike James.

If they're both in their second or third year? Then I'd take Bosh. Big men are always more valuable than swingmen. Plus I love his work ethic and commitment to becoming a leader. Rookie year? I would've taken Carter. Bosh was more of a project and VC was already becoming one of the better swingmen. Not to mention the amount of publicity and fans Carter brought in.
Vince could have easily been at Kobe's leve sans injury. However, it would all come down to his mindset, which he clearly does not have. If he had a n appropriate mindset, he could definitely be at kobe level. As for the question, I would pick Vince. Publicity would be the biggest factor thatmade me pick VC or CB4. I'm thinking a basketball franchise standpoint, and not a basketball team standpoint though.
Well we haven't seen what Bosh can do yet, but even the Vince that wasn't driving to the basket and shooting jumpers could win you more games than Bosh has right now, so the comparison isn't really fair to Bosh. The 27 PPG Vince easily trumps him.
vince is a closer, the dude love him or resent him- hits game winning shots. bosh is a top 15 talent for 46 minutes, the last two he recedes back to the pack.
Swingmen win you games Big men win you championships Of course, unless your Michael Jordan THerefore, Bosh!
this is totally off topic... but did u guys know that bosh was heavier than garnett??? I just realized that when I was comparing stats of CB and KG.
its generally accepted that you build around big men not gaurds, there are some notable exceptions. That said, I'd build around Bosh over Carter. I think he has the ability to be one of the best if not the best player in the league.
