As rookies, definetly Carter over Bosh...I mean did you WATCH Carter in his rookie season? He single handedly took Toronto by storm (I still won't forget that game against the Pacers with that fadeway over Reggie).

Bosh will get better as the years progress and it's always better to build around a reliable big man but Carter's rookie year stood out much more so then Bosh's IMO. Stats don't even say it all, Carter was a phenomenal player.
Not to mention he led the Raptors to a 45-37 record the next year and the playoffs.

Contrary to popular belief, if you saw Carter in his rookie year and in his 2nd year in the league, he had tremendous intensity as well and played reliable defence, using his leaping ability to block shots. During the summer of his rookie year, Carter worked on his jumpshot and left hand so relentless to the point that those two areas became his bread and butter by his 2nd year, even though he was not known for his jumper in his rookie year, he could only shoot the mid-range. By his 2nd year, he had developed a legit 3 point jumpshot.

    Sigh....the good old days.

As for Kobe and Carter, Carter definetly could have never reached the heights Kobe is begnining to reach now, but up until 2001 or so, Kobe and him were about as evenly matched as it gets. However, Kobe's desires, motivations and sheer determination to be the greatest player ever prevailed over Carter's desires to sulk, lie on the floor for excessive minutes over small twists in his ankle and dance on stage with Bow Wow while his team is the midst of a 13 game losing streak.

It was Nelly. Both crappy rappers, but whatever. Either way I pretty much agree with your opinion. The first couple years of VC showed the potential to be a much better player than he is right now.

Not to mention that Carter had a lot of vets to help him get through his rookie/2nd season. He also had a motivational player or a competitive teammate in Tracy McGrady to keep him going.

Bosh is great, but I don't think he'll ever attain that superstar status that Vince achieved.

Yeah I am sick of these VC threads, most of these Raptors fans are like lovers with Vince Carter, VC dumped them, but they will take him back no matter what.. Sad i must say.. Time for ppl to move on, it's a NEW ERA.

^^you gotta be joking. Most Rap fans HATE him. They just realize that he is a superstar player. Bosh can be as great of a player but we don't know if Vince has really reached his prime yet. No doubt thugh Bosh is going to be a superstar for years to come.

Uh..I'm pretty sure VC has reached his prime. He's isn't going to average over 27.5 PPG again IMO.
