<font color=""Black"">This award isn't supposed to just go to the best player in the league otherwise, Michael Jordan would own more than five, but there's no way David Stern could deny Kobe this year. Not only will his 35 points a night win him the scoring crown, but Bryant also has the Lakers headed to the playoffs, where they could conceivably win a round... or two</font>.
<font color=""Red"">You know what! Screw Kobe! Give the MVP to Nash, that way kobe gets mad in the playoffs.</font>
I think what will happen is Kobe will get more first place votes for MVP, but Nash will win it anyways because of all the second and third place votes. Controversy will ensue.
the ESPN writers did a poll for MVP and all that and here is the order... Possible Total Votes: 20 1. LeBron James: 7 2. Kobe Bryant: 6 3. Steve Nash: 4 4. Chancey Billups, Dwayne Wade, Dirk Nowitzki: 1 (each) Also for ESPN Fan votings...Kobe is beating LeBron on MVP voting with a 38% to 31% lead.... so writers thinks its close, fans want Kobe...enough said. Ask teh players, coaches, and gms and I think Kobe should win it, but he probably won't
all the young players dont deserve MVP its just too much..i think veterans like nash and kobe should win it
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting philip2136:</div><div class="quote_post">all the young players dont deserve MVP its just too much..i think veterans like nash and kobe should win it</div> Although LeBron n Wade are great players...I'm with you man
I just saw that too...SI.COM is saying the same thing. I'm stunned- if Steve Nash had won it I would have been pissed but it would have been acceptable. If LeBron wins it I'm going to be outraged. I'm seriously tired of him being handed MJ's life when he's been in the league 3 years and hasn't accomplished anything yet. Steve Nash has. Kobe has. PS. I'm noticing that a lot of sites are coming out with there MVP awards, and Kobe is finishing second everywhere. He was second to Nash on hoopshype.com, 82games.com, and ESPN.com...the one postive of this is that even if he doesn't get as many first place votes as LeBron or Nash, he might slip by them with a flurry of second place votes and a solid amount of first place votes as well.... Honestly- this scenario isn't that out there and from the results I'm seeing with journalists, it looks pretty likely... "MVP MVP MVP" PPS- Someone please tell me that this could happen and I'm not just hanging by a thread to a pipe dream
I heard on a local radio show (570) that they took a sample of about 40 writers who have ballots and only 5 voted for Kobe as MVP... a large number (i forget the figures) went to Nash, with him winning in a fairly decent margin.
The ESPN IMO isnt right coz those espn guys look at stats more! and duh LBJ has better stats! but its coz he has good team mates... anyway we all now who is the mvp = KB8
lebron has been a good player this year but imagine if he was the one to get the 81 points... he would automaticly get MVP no question unlike kobe
Daily News reports that they polled 1/3 of the eligible voters and Kobe finished 5th ... so no chance he wins this apparently ... edit: i read it on dailynews, the poll was done by another paper.. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The Fort Worth Star-Telegram surveyed about a third of MVP voters and reported Sunday that Bryant ranks fifth behind Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James and Chauncey Billups.</div> http://www.dailynews.com/lakers/ci_3718740
