Who do you think should get the Most Improved Player? There is a couple of people in my mind. The first person is my man Boris Diaw. You can't go wrong with this guy. He can play every position on the court. In Atlanta they played him as a Point Guard and in Phoenix they have been playing him as a Center. He is an amazing player and a great pick up for Phoenix. Thanks JJ. The Next player in my mind is Dwight Howard. Wow. That is all I have to say. Orlando needs to hold on to this kid. He is an amazing player and he will become a great star in this league. Orlando will make the playoffs next year. I mean this guys is averaging a double double every night along with Marion. He is just a force inside and players are really intimidated to go inside when he is in the paint. I mean the other night he had like 25 points and 26 rebounds. Who does that these days? Obviously Dwight Howard and you better get used to it. The NBA better watch out because they have a great star on the rise!!!
David West averaged 6, 4 and shot 43% last year. This year he averaged 17, 7 and shot 51%. Fair improvement that.
Mike James -Toronto Raptors last year he did 11ppg 2rpg 3apg on 44% shooting 38% from 3 this year he's 20ppg 3rpg and 5apg on 47% shooting and 44% from 3
Dwight Howard is my favorite player, but he shouldn't win the award, yes he improved, but I don't think you should give the award to someone after they improve from their rookie to sophmore season, because they adjusted to the game style and they are supposed to improve. You can't go wrong with David West or Boris Diaw as Most Improved. David West was a big part of the Hornets success this season, they were supposed to be top 3 worst teams in the league and him and Chris Paul led them to a respectable season. Boris Diaw has been a triple double machine this year and he does it all. He is fearless. He's so versatile.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting hustler:</div><div class="quote_post">I can't see why you picked him over CB4, CB4 has been most improved i think besides west and diaw.</div> CB4 showed what he is doing now at the end of last season and had a very good season last year. I don't think he is most improved. Bosh is one of the more underrated players in the game, for sure, he definetely doesn't get the props that he deserves, but he should not be in the running for most improved player when you have players such as Diaw and West who have more than doubled their production from last year.
i think that Boris Diaw should win. he like tripled his points and started to get more into the game.
Boris Diaw simply because out of the three contenders (Diaw, West, James) Diaw has helped his team rise to heights that were unimaginable when Amare went out. He greatly helped Phoenix become the fourth best team in the league and number two seed in the west.
i would say west, even though diaw had a great season. it was mostly because of the impact steve nash had. if west were on the suns, im pretty sure he would have had a season as great as diaws
I say Diaw because last year he averaged 4.8 points, .422% and 2.6 rbs, and this year he is averaging 13.3 points, 6.9 rbs, and .526%. To me thats a lot of improvement. He has improved a lot. Mike James hasnt really improved a lot. The only reason people are considering him being the Most Improved is because he averages more points. He was a bench player last year. He still averaged 11 ppg. So that means if he started for Houston, he would be averaging close to 17/18!.. All he needed was minutes last year. If he had as much minutes as he had this year, last year, I think he would've averaged close to what he is averaging right now. Dont forget he was bench last year and is starting this year. Say if he was bench for Raptors. He would averaged about the same as he did with Houston. The only way he would get more points would be more minutes. So to me Diaw improved the most

Hell, even Boris admitted it. Put him in any other team in the league and his numbers, whilst still higher than in Atlanta, would be well below what he did in the very unique environment of Phoenix.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GatorsowntheSEC:</div><div class="quote_post">Did Diaw start for Atlanta last year? </div> hmm.. good point.. no diaw didnt start for hawks, but look at this. he came off the bench and averaged 4.8 points, 2 rebs, 42%, and 18 minutes. While Mike James came off the bench averaging 12 points, 3 assists, 43%, and 25 minutes. Now tell me who improved more?

He was great at the end of last year after you got rid of VC and just continued that for an entire season. He didn't improve as much as guys like West or Diaw did.

I think there was a bigger improvement in Diaw then James

Also he's sizzling on his %'s compared to last season, especially 3's. And basketball isnt linear in that if you play 10 minutes and get 2 points you'll get 8 points in 40 minutes. Mike James being the player he was this year attracted far more defensive attention. Where as last year he wasnt one of the top threats on the team, this season he was the #2 guy. He also was counted on to perform in tight situations, the end of game stiffling defence which he didnt see as much in Houston. Mike James i think is a very solid candidate for most improved. Diaw is another one but i think much of his improvement is because of Nash and Mike D. West is a very solid choice as well...probably the #1 with Diaw being 2 and James being 3
