OK here's the scenario, Raps are up and the best player available is Gay, what do you do? A) Draft and find a place for him on this team, deal him elsewhere or C) make a Babcockish move and draft the unheard of Mirza Teletovic? Personally, if we decide to keep both CV and Joey, there is no place for Rudy on this team. SF overload if you ask me. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Connecticut sophomore guard Rudy Gay will announce he will skip his final two seasons of eligibility and enter the NBA draft at a 3 p.m. ET news conference on campus Monday.</div> Link - <font color=""Red"">Click here</font>
I would outright trade the pick(s) for veteran/experience talent. When I say veteran I mean 28 to 30 yrs old. We're young enough presently so at some point you have to be creative and deal those picks for immediate talent. Last thing I want to become is the next coming of the Atlanta Hawks. A team filled with 1st rounders who've made no significant strides forward. That's why I don't think peeps should get their hopes up, because I'm willing to bet the farm that BC is dealing that 1st rounder.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Fever:</div><div class="quote_post"><u>ALWAYS</u> draft the best player available. <u>ALWAYS!</u></div> Words that Rob Babcock should of lived by.
Get the best player available. Worst case is you trade him away to another team for something you might need.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Fever:</div><div class="quote_post"><u>ALWAYS</u> draft the best player available. <u>ALWAYS!</u></div> Atlanta did that. They thought Marvin was the best player available and everybody said he was. Look @ the outcome.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Gotrunks226:</div><div class="quote_post">Atlanta did that. They thought Marvin was the best player available and everybody said he was. Look @ the outcome.</div> They thought he had more potential. Everybody now obviously knows he was NBA-Ready and still has tons of potential. Marvin will be a great player in the future though, he's showed flashes of why the Hawks made him the #2 pick.
