<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AlleyOop:</div><div class="quote_post">I think this off-season Mullin is going to lock-up Calbert Cheaney for 6 years and $57 mils for his veteran presence in the lockerroom. I heard he's also going to give Chris Taft the full-ride of 8 years $100 mils -- he doesn't want to risk losing Taft to free agency 5 years from now.</div>

Now thats the Mullin we all know! [IMG]

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AlleyOop:</div><div class="quote_post">Lol -- totally Custodian. He'll come over from weakside like he wants to post up or some $hitt, and it's like "Dude, WTF bro? Get outta the way!"

I love Foyle's heart man but damn! that guy kills me sometimes. At least he stopped with the "one-handed laser-beam baseball-style outlet pass" on every rebound. Remember that? Sometimes he'd grab a rebound and he'd already be throwing a "shot-put style" shooter pass 94 feet before he ever even turned around to look down court. Oh, Adonal Foyle. You are priceless.</div>

Things just need to change. I really feel bad for a guy like Montgomery because this was just waiting to happen. It couldn't convince me that we could win games playing that low %, fast paced game without any D or ability to slow down the game for the 4th quarter. Plus, when Baron is injured or not passing the ball to some guys (because they are unreliable or he's being selfish and not buying into running plays) and Dunleavy/Zarko/Foyle/Pietrus aren't playing well, it just makes playing good team ball that much harder to do. Then these bad long term investments forces the coach to support Mullin by playing the guys Mullin invested in long term by playing Foyle/Fisher/Dunleavy. These guys are just garbage altogether because they lack inside presence due to lack of footwork, the hands to catch it, or the foot speed/shot touch/decision making to create off the dribble or get out on the break to finish at the rim.

What some of us predicted last season was way off. I said possibly 8th seed last season, but I can't believe how many said 1rst Pacific (3rd-5th seed) or started talking about championships before we even made the playoffs for one season. I think those same guys on other message boards are retreating quickly and playing the scapegoat game on the coach because they simply had bad hunches or they don't know what is supposed to make a good team or don't realize that the major problems we have isn't the fault of the coach (I think it's ignorance and guys being frustrated).

It's obvious that the qualities a good team will have is basketball experience, stability, inside-outside play/inside-outside ball movement, unselfishness/team chemistry, ability to run organized playsets, to play it fast or slow, to play defense, to rebound, to catch the ball cleanly, make good passes, shoot, make good shot selections, to hit free throws, intimidation/physical play, and having good investments by the front office so we don't have to play guys that suck like Foyle/Dunleavy and Fisher. Those guys do maybe one or two roles well, but it isn't enough to start. Also, not even Jrich is a perfect player, but I have to give him props for being the most well rounded guy on both ends of the floor and not being an overpaid bum.

Anyway, I'm done ranting. I just can't believe how many ignorant people there are on ESPN and some other sites I won't name. They're just one big lynch mob that can't break things down and analyze the bigger problems this franchise has. They don't readily identify these problems as often as their loathing of Mike Montgomery and his "inablility to teach players or get players to listen" or whatever nonsense. They'd rather go after scapegoats or take in whatever the clueless media has to say. Or maybe they go back to a few specific coaching situations (plays that didn't work out in a lost game) rather than look at our poor free throws in big game situations, poor shooting %'s through four quarters (especially 4th quarter), lack of inside game or ability to catch and kick out, poor floor spacing, the inability to run because we can't finish at the rim, shoot, or make good decisions with or without the ball... Few coaches can even win with that kind of crap going on. Unless a awesomely talented player himself says the whole team isn't following the coach, I won't believe what the media has to report either. I bet over half those media guys rated the Warriors a playoff team as good as the Suns or some crap and they were so wrong in their analysis. I won't believe anything they say because most of those writers probably don't even do their homework or research on the team they are writing about. They just go with the flow and work the drama for all its worth.

Sorry... I said I'd stop ranting... It's getting emotional... We're dying to win, but we shouldn't overrate this team, write it off as a sixth-eighth seed playoff team because of a few meaningless games last season where we were monsters from 3-point land and teams didn't pack in the paint so much. Next season, when we make predictions, let's hope we analyze the hell out of the next team. That means no overrating Ellis/Diogu because they could very well have Dunleavy-like or Pietrus-like or Biedrins-like seasons [IMG]
