<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Isiah Thomas already has a prospective taker for Stephon Marbury. Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune on Wednesday that his team is interested in acquiring Marbury, whom Minnesota drafted 10 years ago and traded to the Nets in 1999. However, Taylor admitted that Marbury's contract - he'll earn $60 million over the next three seasons - is a major stumbling block. "Yeah, it isn't that we couldn't use somebody like that. We certainly could with his experience, and we know him," Taylor told the newspaper. "It's that he was signed at a salary that's going to cause us problems. So it would be difficult, it would have to be one of those things where New York would have to say that they really want to get rid of the player and could help us in some financial way to do it. We wouldn't know until this summer if that would even be a possibility." The Knicks can give Minnesota a maximum of $3 million as compensation for Marbury. The only other way for the Knicks to provide salary cap relief is to take back long-term contracts. If the Wolves decides to keep Kevin Garnett, they will attempt to add veteran players like Marbury in order to placate their franchise player. Last month, both Garnett and Marbury said they are amicable to a reunion; Marbury wants Garnett to join him in New York, while Garnett wants his one-time teammate to return to the Twin Cities. According to several team sources, Isiah Thomas is committed to trading Marbury, whose skills have diminished while his reputation as a malcontent has grown appreciably. However, Marbury's trade value never has been lower; he is showing signs of breaking down and he is a point guard who makes his teammate bitter, not better. Another possibility is Allen Iverson, a player Thomas long had admired. The Sixers likely will shop him this summer. The Knicks may have to take back a number of players in order to rid themselves of Marbury. The Houston Rockets could potentially put together a package featuring Rafer Alston and others. The Clippers, who could lose Sam Cassell to free agency, also may be interested. </div> http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketba...1p-347491c.html This was already cleared up in the media exit day. Unless the Knicks are getting a player like Kobe or Garnett with Marbury (not happeneing), then he's staying in a Knick uniform. Besides, what do the Wolves have to offer us? The most is Ricky Davis and some fillers who won't be as valuable as Marbury is to us. Besides, with his contract bloated and his trade value probably the lowest of his entire career, we're not going to get too much for him.
Who cares what Minny is offering? Isiah should put a nice red bow on Marbury or Starbury or whoever else he is this day of the week and gift wrap him over to the TWolves.
I'll take any package Minnesota offers as long as they throw in their lottery pick and a conditional pick. Then after we get that deal done the Knicks should look into the possibility of shipping Francis back to Houston for their lottery pick as well. Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired

What kind of insanity is that??? Who the hell would trade Garnett or Kobe for Marbury? Isiah Thomas and apparently Larry Brown have both lost their minds! After the way Marbury conducted himself this season they should be happy to be able to move him at all. Pack that dumb fool up and send him to Minnesota for a lottery pick and whatever. Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

LOL Not trying to offend any Knicks fans here but them thinking that is utter insanity. Marbury worth a player of that calibre? They must of lost their minds. To be blunt...Marbury isnt worth much to any team other than the Knicks apparently. I mean he can be a fairly good player when he wants to be but with that contract?

Well i hear those rumors that AI will be a knick by next season i don't really know if it's true but here how it's going to go down knicks will trade: Starbury,Taylor expiring contract,Rose and get AI,Salmons. I really think that if the knicks will get AI it would be the real deal and we can finally make it to the playoffs hopefuly.

Ricky Davis has traveled to many different teams the same reason Francis, Marbury, Rose, Taylor, and mostly everyone else on this roster has. They're unwanted, no one wants them. Minnesota doesn't want to keep Davis in the future, why must New York be the destination of every unwanted player in the NBA? What Isiah is doing should be illegal, I don't think its fair that Sterns allows Isiah to abuse the trade policy so much.
