<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Q. Will Bickerstaff return as coach? It might be months before this is settled. It's apparently his call and comes down to deciding whether he still has enough energy to be both coach and general manager. Q. What's the burning need? Bickerstaff calls the lack of a wing scorer "the only glaring concern." He says that player doesn't have to be a great shooter, but has to be someone who changes the way defenses must guard the Bobcats. "A Ray Allen (type) who understands basketball plays," Bickerstaff described. "That's what people can sleep on -- a Michael Redd type." Neither Allen nor Redd is available and Bickerstaff can't discuss players under contract. Looking at the summer free-agent class, former Shaw star Flip Murray (now with Cleveland) could be an affordable upgrade as a wing scorer. Q. What about the draft? There should be plenty of wing scorers in this draft, including Gonzaga's Adam Morrison and Connecticut's Rudy Gay. But there's no obvious candidate for the top pick. "It's a `what-you-like' draft," Bickerstaff said, "and a lot of guys with similar skills." This morning the Bobcats will have a coin flip with the Atlanta Hawks (also 26-56). The winner of that flip can finish no worse than sixth in the draft lottery. The loser can finish no worse than seventh. Q. What about the Bobcats' free agents and contract options? Bickerstaff told the Observer on Thursday he intends to pick up team options on Anderson and Carroll. Most likely, the team will also make qualifying offers to restricted free agents Melvin Ely, Bernard Robinson and Kevin Burleson. Asked about re-signing Ely or unrestricted free agents Voskuhl or Jumaine Jones, Bickerstaff said those decisions will hinge partially on who is drafted. Another factor for each might involve their willingness to accept fewer minutes to stay. Q. What about other teams' free agents? The Bobcats hit full cap in July, after having two-thirds of other teams' room in the first season and three-quarters this season. Don't look for any big signings this summer. "This is not a year when we're really enthusiastic about doing anything" major, Bickerstaff said. "We'll look first in-house" for improvement. The Bobcats have yet to make a major signing off another roster. Would they spend big on a player they like? "I don't have any reason to doubt it," Bickerstaff said of owner Bob Johnson. "Everything we've asked for so far, he's done."</div> Source
i cant wait to c this team next season along with toronto, orlando, and my team the bulls. if yall won over 20 games with all these injurys i cant wait to c this team without the injurys. im just so made that the eastern conference is so under-rated because most of our teams on the east our rebuilding and dont have 2 stars on our team like every team in the east that made the play-offs does. i hope yall have a good season because this team toronto orlando and the bulls are all headed in a good future.
