Lakers haven't been blown out all season, I don't see it starting now. This isn't last year's team of quitters when they get down by double digits. The Suns always let teams back into games, because of their weak interior. The game is going to be close and if the Lakers put themselves in a position to win down the stretch, my money is on Kobe delivering.

good motivation shape, the lakers haven't been blown out because kobe won't let them. Kobe's going all out in this series with the Suns.

The way I see it, is that the playoffs are all about tight, tough games. Something which we have an advantage ahead of The Suns in. Throughout the whole season, we've been grinding out results, where as The Suns have been the complete opposite. They've had comfortable victories throughout the season and aren't used to grinding out the results like us. We are more experianced in this department.

haha. lol. at one point i actually thought the spurs would be a better matchup for us. [IMG] artest shouldnt have opened his big mouth. and bibby is getting killed on defense by tony parker. imagine what would have happened if we had smush on him. [IMG]

    kings down by 31!

*edit / 73-39 right now, the spurs out rebounding the kings by 16!

The Spurs are putting on a clinic in this game. This is exactly why I wanted Phoenix in Rnd 1. This Laker team needs more confidence and experience before they can hang with the Spurs.

    Smush Running His Mouth

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"><font color=""Red"">Leave it to one of the Lakers' babes, 24-year-old Smush Parker, to have a guarantee tumble out of his mouth.

"The Lakers will beat Phoenix," Parker said Saturday of the first-round series between the seventh-seeded Lakers and second-seeded Suns.</font>

Parker never has played an NBA playoff game. His official bio lists his favorite player "growing up" to be Kevin Garnett. Yet one day after Coach Phil Jackson said of his young players, "We're not at all doubting ourselves," Parker took it further.

<font color=""red"">"There's definitely going to be an upset," Parker said.</font>

Ron Artest's proclamations about the eighth-seeded Sacramento Kings upsetting the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs were refuted quickly by a Game 1 final score of Spurs 122, Kings 88 on Saturday. But Parker, who will be guarding 2004-05 NBA MVP Steve Nash and must disrupt the rampant screen-and-rolls run by Phoenix, had this explanation:

"We just feel confident going up against Phoenix, and we know what we've got to do. We've got Chris Mihm back, Kwame (Brown) is playing the best basketball he has all season, and we just feel good going into the series. We just have confidence in ourselves."

Lakers forward Lamar Odom offered similar confidence about breaking down Phoenix's defense.

"You slow down and you'll get whatever you want," Odom said. "You can just kind of like walk the ball into the rim. They don't have any 7-foot guys out there. A 6-7 guy is their best shot-blocker. If you just slow down and take your time, you can get what you want."

These are the type of mistakes that piss me off about Smush Parker. You haven't done anything in the NBA, you haven't even been to the playoffs before, and you start popping off at the mouth?

Steve Nash has owned him all season.
