Cassell is a great veteran leader. He would be an upgrade over Smush. Mitch has been going on about picking up a veteran player, this could be him.
Wow, now I could sense Kobe, KG, and Sam on the same team next year. I heard some insider claimed KG bought a home in LA and told the Glen Taylor to trade him or don't resign him (opting out), and he would love to reunite with his friend in LA. Something here that Sam and KG setting up to team up with Kobe? This could be a trade of Odom, Bynum, Mihm, 1st round draft pick for KG. Also the lineup will look something like: PG: Sam Cassel SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Luke Walton PF: Kevin Garnett C: Kwame Brown Sub: PG: Smush Parker SG: Devin Green/Sasha SF: Devean George (if he resigns with Lakers, otherwise Jim Jackson) PF: Ronny C: Some cheap center signing this summer
Cassell to the Lakers wow. That is one of those players that Kobe is talking about we need one or two good players to make it to the WCF form.

That would be even worse than the Shaq trade simply because we would be giving away an untested #10 pick, and an extremely talented player in Lamar Odom, as well as our starting/back up Center Chris Mihm. Who would sub in for Brown? If Brown got hurt who would play Center? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">heard some insider claimed KG bought a home in LA and told the Glen Taylor to trade him or don't resign him (opting out), and he would love to reunite with his friend in LA. Bynum havne't show us any valueable time being on the court this year. Other than his size, I dont like anything from Bynum. Right now, he's not even ready to play in college basketball. He's slow, basketball IQ is low, and he lacks so much on the defensive end that it probably going to take him at least 3-4 years to be effective. By that time, Kobe is going to get old. Don't waste his prime right now. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">and an extremely talented player in Lamar Odom, as well as our starting/back up Center Chris Mihm. </div> As talented as Odom is, other player doesn't fear him. He doesn't have the defensive presense like Garnett imposes on the court. He doesn't hit enough "key" shot to give us the winning edge during the course of the game. Yes he can rebound, post up, pass, driving, but KG can do it 2x better. And Mihm, wow this guy is having an impressive season, but he is too weak to have any sort of impact on the defensive end. Yes, he can block some shot and he is also a foul machine. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Who would sub in for Brown? If Brown got hurt who would play Center? </div> That why I think we should go out and sign some cheap Center to back Brown up. With Kobe, KG, and Sam, that is a very impressive lineup. We can be an instant championship caliber team. With Odom, I don't think we ever going to be at the championship level. Just my opinion.
Give Bynum away but not Odom, he is unselfish and compliments Kobe in so many ways its not funny. He is also a solid rebounder and a great assist threat for a big man. IF there was some way to keep Odom and Kobe and get Cassell and KG then we would be looking pretty damn good....
Cassell would boost the Lakers to that contending level again, he's clutch and he's got PG skills that dont come around very often. I only wish he was on the lakers so I wouldnt have to call him E.T. anymore.
Cassell would be very intresting on the Lakers, he's clutch, maybe that second option the Lakers have been looking for or Lamar will step up next year. Cassell would be a huge upgrade over Smush because, we need Smush on the bench to give us that boost we need off the bench.
